Default Forgot to tell you guys

Remember during this ride I was complaining about a new rattle? I had noticed it during the night ride last week to. I also felt a little loose in the back.

Yesterday I was putting organic pads in the brakes when I noticed my back wheel was a bit out. Ok, it was a lot out. So, I put it on the truing stand when I noticed I had two broken spokes. I think you called that one NappyT.

My cassette was a bit loose too, but I did at least three rides on broken spokes.

Oh, and PacMan, Spec-Ed said the 5#!7s looked like something you would like--and you were missed.

So what do I win?

Will your homies at UC have you laced up for Sunday?

You win a uh. Hmm. Anything between the eraser and the thimble...

Yeah well, they said that was normal wear and tear even though they had never had an FSRxc with two broken spokes. I bought two DT Swisses from them and I just put them on tonight. I'll straighten it out tomorrow when I have light. It's kinda straight already after tightening the new ones a bit.

If they were the stock wheels you shouldn't be surprised. Stock wheelsets are often built with crappy spokes. One of the best upgrades for any bike is a new wheelset. I'm not saying you have to get new wheels, I'm just saying.

A newbie DIYer nice! I was working in total eclipse until today. Just picked up a 48" shop light. Might get a second one tomorrow.

I've been thinking about rebuilding with the hubs I've got. I can get 317s for about 30 bucks a piece and probably do spokes (the same DT Swiss) for about 50 or so. I'm just a little worried about how long it will take me. I don't want to miss too much riding. I'm just starting to thin out a bit...

When we bought our house, the garage came with one bulb on the back wall and one outlet--for an entire garage!!

Luckily my dad is an EE and we ran 6 more outlets and hung three 48" flourescent lights from the rafters. It's like friggin daylight in there now. One of the best home improvement jobs I ever did.

Lacing a wheel isn't rocket science, but make sure it gets done right. Cuz if it isn't, I want to be there for that first ride.

One of the best jobs I did was put recessed in the kitchen which freed up 2 48" duals. I think I might put them in the garage.

I have Zinn's and have been reading up on the whole thing. I think I can do it, but it's just scary not having wheels until I'm done.

Same setup here. I just caved in since I have been tooling on the bike more now that I have been riding a few days a week. Outlets will need to wait for a weekend when I have time. Doing stuff on the free/cheap since the place is a rental.

Jenson's has disc hubs for $20 or maybe someone on the board has extra's. I tossed a set of wheels just before I moved. bummer...

Yes, but not sure where yet. Might go explore Black Mountain in RB. If nothing comes together I'll just ride Sycamore.
