That wont be an issue, we can use your car to drop the shuttle drivers back off at the top if that works for ya.

I know this is a a tall order but, does anyone have a topo map posted, GPS data, Google Earth kml file of the intended route?
I'm thinking about doing this ride (assuming I don't have to work Saturday) and I would like to see the intended route.

Also, I don't have a vehicle to help with the shuttle. I can only hold two passengers and one bike, or 5 passengers and zero bikes. I see that other people don't have a shuttle-friendly vehicle as well. This could be a problem if everyone shows up without a vehicle that will move bikes up the mountain.

I'm trying to make up my mind here. I'm kind of on the fence.
If I don't work on Saturday, it's either this ride or sneak the Stinky on the lifts at Snow Summit again. Either way, it should be good riding.

^^^I'm in the same place. 2 dr hatch may cause a problem but I really want to do this with the new bike, and this is in my backyard compared to most rides

This sounds like a fun ride and im really thinking about going to: 1)ride somewhere other than in the OC (never riden outside my bubble) 2)to do a shuttle run (never done one of those either)
Im kind of sketchy of the kind of ride im getting myself into-how difficult cardio wise and tech wise will this ride be??? Is this more of an advanced riders only type deal and if so i wouldnt want to go and end up being the "Party Foul" by slowing everyone down.
Also, can anyone give me a guestamite of how long we plan on being out riding so i can have an idea of how what to expect (mainly, i need to tell the GF how long ill be gone and get the okay )

Thanks!!!

Here is my recap of this ride from about the same time last year. (Includes video of Merrill and Sunset.) I'm not sure if the shuttle route is the same.

Expect it to take all day. Ride within your limits and you should be fine. Merrill had some exposure and some rocky sections. Sunset had some real nice flow to it. I was too fricken tired to enjoy El P. Keep your speed in check as you will probably encounter lots of other trail users out and about.

A fun ride, but a little too much pedaling for my taste.

I believe Mott is doing the pure shuttle route. It is about 15 miles of down with maybe 2 miles and 500 feet of climbing.

The run back up to get the cars takes about an hour. Just pray no motorcyclists go down. Last two times I've done Wilson run bikers went down shutting down the Crest.

Very different from what you guys did.

I can do that. My car has a hard limit though to 3 passengers (the rear seat is split into two buckets, that's why only 4 total in the car).

Are there going to be enough trucks? I have a small suv with a bikerack that can only hold 2 bikes. I could shuttle people back to the trucks up top however.
