Summer's not over till we say it is...

We'll be starting from Ridge Park Rd./gate 9 at 3:30, riding for about 1.5 hours (till sunset). It's about 9 miles, about 4 of that on singletrack, some of that solid intermediate. You'll need to be able to keep up a decent pace without breaks or be prepared to deal with creatures of the night. The basic pattern is: fun singletrack downhill, stout fireroad climb (repeat until satisfied). There are lots of possible routes, but we'll definitely end up in Emerald Canyon and finish with Missing Link/Fenceline.

Parking is free on Ridge Park Rd., but there are no "facilities" or informational kiosks (hey, it's Newport, but it's still wilderness).

I might be able to join you if I can get my fork rebuilt in time today. But where is ridge park rd?

Ridge Park is off of Newport Coast Dr. (the north end of both parks). The trailhead is off the end of the road (cul-de-sac).
