Feel free to call them yourself if you want trail conditions, 951-780-6222. They are very nice people and very willing to answer any and all questions.

Sadly, some equestrians and MTBers have been going around or over the gate from the Chino Hills side and damaging the trails. It could be very bad in there.

Well, as much as I'd love to ride Chino, I'd rather wait until the trails are in riding condition. I think they were closed for 6 days after the last rain and I did notice some areas that were still very muddy after they opened the park. We had a lot more rain last weekend so closing for a longer period doesn't surprise me.

I called a few times today and kept getting the recording. I finally got a real person but she wasn't sure when the park would open. May have to try LHH to Turnbull.

Thanks for the update.

FYI
Buddy just called and sent this email to me (Fri. 4:30PM 1/11/08 )
I just spoke with the park service and they said they will not open Chino Hills park until next Tuesday at the earliest.
They said that there was so much mud -- Telegraph road was impassible even with the ranger’s trucks…

Thanks! I called a little earlier and was told the same thing. Working on Plan B for our ride tomorrow.

From Fullerton Rd. to Colima is 10+ miles. I would think that going all the way to Turnbull would be 16-18 miles. I would be in for such a ride. Make it happen!
