There isn't a gear ratio out there low enough for me to be able to do that. I already get ragged on enough by Neil for the grandpa gears I run.

Just got some new lights and I want to test them out! See you guys there. Is there a reason why we park at the tree farm than at the gate? Theft?

Can't park at the gate at night, you will get a ticket. There is also a "No Parking" sign there for during the day, as long as your on the the one side of it, you're ok.

Bastard! I will never let Neil near my bike. Because he'll probably try to put some 11Tooth cog on the back when I'm not looking.

As slow as you are, don't know if they make any light that last that long..., JK. You can climb Black Star with a cheapy(AA battery type) and use your good light on the descents.

yo dave, you can do most of the climb w/o lights if you stay ahead or behind a group with lights. I climbed for a bit w/o lights last week and it only took maybe 30 seconds for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. it will all depend of course on how clear it is out... lets hope i remember to bring my lights tomorrow

Yeah that jackhole! Somebody needs to straighten that Bubb out. I kid, I kid Nam.

Let's just hope Neil leaves the cross bike at home this week.

How fast of a pace is this ride? How many minutes to Beek's?

I have a slight facial injury from my weekend ride that may slow me down a little

there are some bubbs that fly up to beeks in just over an hour i think, and there are some bubbs who still somewhat fly there, then there are some bubbs who cruise there (like me, but im gonna start pushing harder to work on my speed).

Default First time riding there....

Is the trailhead map accurate for the start of this ride? And how close to it can I/should I park? I'll be coming in from Huntington Beach. Thanks!! Donny

Donny, just park at the tree lot and ride toward the gate. From HB, take the 55 north and exit Chapman and head east. It turns into Santaigo Canyon Rd. After passing Irvine Lake, you will see the christmas tree lot on your left, make a left there on Silverado Canyon Rd and then a quick left on Black Star.

I do have a fresh new 14t we can slap on your SS if you want to go that route....don't leave your bike unattended tomorrow night!
