edit: I would get lost on that loop so much if I tried it myself. But it was great riding with everyone, another fun newbie...thanks Pugz.

Ok, so my NON MTB riding wife has been showing some interest and asked if we could ride the loop. She asked I didn't have to talk her into it!!

Her bike seems a little to small so I made some adjustments to my Tracer for her. Lower seat (Had to cut my post a bit too) and put some flats on it.

So we get there and this is the first time in many years for her. She was feeling a little intimidated by the group so we just went on our own. Another lady from the group left early so we rode with her for a bit. It seemed like every time we would stop the group would catch up to us for a bit. She asked me a few times if all the STR group rides were full of such nice people. I told her that every group STR ride I’ve been on has always had 100% nice folks. She kept saying “I could ride with those people, even if you don’t want to go”. What’s up with that? Trying to ditch me already? haha

She liked the Tracer and it did seem to fit her much better. She rode great, walked a few of the up hills and rode all of the down hills. And we completed the entire ride with out any early bail outs. She was wooped but did have lots of fun.

So with that said this was my slowest loop ever but the best one yet.

I’ve been itching to build myself another bike but it looks like I might have to build one for her first. I want my Tracer back. lol

1FG rider has the coolest bike ever. I've been collecting parts to build a "Repack" inspired bike for awhile now. His is not quite the dircetion I want to go but is hand down one of the coolest cruisers I've seen.

Talking

Thanks for hosting the ride all. It was nice meeting some STR folks. Even though my son crashed and we had to bail early, he said he actually enjoyed it! (well up to the crashing part!) Other then a swollen hand and a scraped up side, he's OK. Thanks for waiting up for us. I'm looking forward to meeting more folks on the Blackstar night ride!

spookydave - the lady that left early with you and your wife was me. I had fun riding with you two. Hope your wife comes out and rides again. Tell her it's fun riding the Loop at night.

Yes - I'll be starting my rides early so I can finish with the group. I have so many jokes to crack about this early start but - I'll just save them.

Jojo - Thank You! I've been riding over a year more consistently since this Spring. It's about time my ride improves but I am just sloooow.

Julia - had a great time and said the boy with the red helmet was FAST. She loved it when she saw other kids at the ride.

Pugzie Thank You - for another fun ride.

I too had a great time. Interesting to see he amount of non-noobs that showed just to get to meet new people and get in a group ride. Never heard anyone moaning about the many stops and regroups

Really jazzed about finally getting the loop route down and getting another option for a quick ride other than CHSP. Would not have been possible without this awesome group...STR

I have to say, I don't think I have seen a site with this level of activity and interest in a pursuit with out all the B.S. that is so common on the net

Looking forward for more rides to get to know some new areas

Have to second the thought on 1FG Riders ride, the mods he made to make that happen are incredible. I take back the comment about adding a bannana seat would finish it off. Guess it just takes us old guys back

Sounds like you guys had a great time! Sorry I missed it, but I was severely hung over! I shouldn't drink that much wine ever again!

I'll be there for the next one!
