Default Daley Ranch 11/25

I know most of us will still be trying to burn off those Thanksgiving feasts...

Riding Daley Ranch, Sunday morning. Maybe around 8:30?

Depending on how I feel after a weekend of training rides we'll be doing the normal 12mi route, or our 20 mile route, which includes some repetitions in the beginning, but hits all of the singletrack in the park. We head out on Creek Crossing - East Ridge - Sage - Coyote singletrack - Eastridge - Sage - Diamondback singletrack - Eastridge to the Ranch House - out on Jack Creek Meadow - up Cardiac/Hidden Spring - Burnt Mountain singletrack - Englemann Oak - Bobcat singletrack - Cougar Ridge down to Crest singletrack - up and over Boulder Loop - down Rock Ridge - out Boulder Loop - back to the cars on the pavement.

That is 20mi, around 3000ft of climbing. http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=1618

The other route that is a possibly is this one:

http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=2593

Will be a few hours. Since I can't afford lunch at Stone, say Chipotle in Escondido off of Auto Parkway/9th

I'll bump this for those looking for Thanksgiving weekend rides.

I *may* SS this ride. Depends on how beat I am after 3 days of good riding.

Tomorrow might be a small group as it doesn't look like I can get away two Sundays in a row.

Also, PacMan is now on the injured list after rolling his ATV in the desert the other day. He's back & a bit brused up, but I'll let him post his injury report.

Default Mellow pace or fast?

I haven't decided on a ride tomorrow yet, Daley sounds decent,
but I don't want to hold people up if this is a training ride or
generally fast paced (I'm a super slow climber ... I know Daley pretty well and can bail on my own with no problems, but
if this isn't a mellow paced ride I'll probably do something
else.

I'm wondering if It would be a bad idea for me to come as well. I am somewhat of a newbie and while I have gotten in pretty good shape, I am a pretty slow climber too and don't want to hold anyone up.

After nearly 100 miles of riding since Thanksgiving, I hope it's a slow pace.

See http://www.mountainbikebill.com/DaleyRanch.htm for
directions ... figure about 40 minutes from downtown SD
(might be worse tomorrow with the t-day crowd leaving).

You should enjoy the climb known as Cardiac. I keep hoping there's a defibrilator waiting at the top -- or about half way really.

I'd go on the ride, but I've already committed to riding the couch. 3 days of riding and my legs are shot, they need some rest.

Wasn't one of the rides a shuttle?

Yeah, but there was still some uphill. Today's ride wasn't bad, it was yesterdays ride that put the hurt on me. I challenged myself to stay in the middle ring on all the climbs.

I'm lame. I woke up late, drove real fast to the trailhead, and got there at 9:20AM. I thought the start time was still 8:30AM, so I thought you guys were long gone but I figured I might be able to catch you guys somewhere. So I'm getting ready to ride and I take my bike down from the rack. I then notice there's a huge hole in the sidewall of my front tire.

I'll catch you guys next time, hopefully.

Somehow we got separated from BJ? Justin, Gene, and Eric took off for a little extra credit stint, but Ben, Matt, John, and a few others and I waited up at a bunch of the trail crossings and some of the hill tops. We got down to the little pond and realized BJ was missing. Eric went all the way back up to around Stanley Peak but didn't see anyone, so we continued on.

Sorry!! Not sure how we could've missed you, as we had about 3 regroups before the little fire road descent.

I'll have a short RR later mixed in with my entire weekend RR

Nice ride, guys - huge props to those on a single speed, don't know how you do it ...

Personally, I was very glad I had a recovery day yesterday, nice job for those with 3-5 days in the legs.

I had a great time, thanks to everybody that came and particularly to Allison/Justin for organizing it.
