I'm going.
The ride will be about 23 to 27 miles. I would not consider this a beginner ride. I think mid-intermediate and up. Time estimate is 4 to 5 hours barring any problems. Good climbs, great descents, great technical. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. Bring a cooler with some after ride food if you want! No water available at the parking area. Adventure Pass required. From the 210 freeway in La Canada, take Hwy 2 (Angeles Crest Hwy) for 24 miles (about 30 minutes) to the Charleton Flat picnic area. Turn Left into the picnic area and park in the small lot just to the right. Don't go down the road. You can also park in front of the green boarded up bathrooms (our Adventure Pass dollars at work!) just off the hwy. Hope to see you there! |

After seeing the RR from last weekends Chilao ride, I really want to do this. I'm hosting my daughters End of soccer season party on Saturday. If it was Sunday I would be there, perhaps next time.

Well, depending on the time you start, I might be able to squeeze it in. I live really close to Chilao, so I'd rather do this one than SART. My family is used to me being late to stuff anyhow. I was late to my own sons B-day party once, and I had the pinatas and cake! Seriously.

Just throwing this out there. If there is enough folks who can't make the ride Saturday, is there any interest in a second group riding this on Sunday?

If I could do this I would. Any carpool interest, meeting at the carpool spot at the bottom of the angelest highway? My car isn't doing well at the moment, so I'll probably ride from my house to the carpool spot, if I do go. I'll confirm later tonight.

I am in a sparking clean 'inferno red' Dodge Grand Caravan license RYDAMTN. I like to park past the gate in back. Not on the hwy.

I'll plan to first stop at the meeting point/parking area at the bottom of Angeles Crest at 8am. Depending on how many I'm taking up I might show up a bit late to Charlton.
