I may cruise up for this ride I have always wanted to try this. Gettin tired of same old OC trials with massive amounts of traffic

Seriously, I don't know if I can keep up with you hammerheads. Although I would love the challenge.

No hammering, just good endurance ride. Anyway, about SART, I really want to do this ride also and would like to be lead. CC called me last night and told me about it, but I already posted my training ride here and on the WS site. I would love to this ride. How is this trail in mid March? My calendar opens up wide after the VQ. so many trails I want to do. Lynn? ?

Just a heads up. I did this ride last Saturday and there were several (seven or eight) trees down on the SART loop behind the post office. Here are the stats for the John Elliott/SART loop from the second drop in spot: total mileage was about 21 miles with a little over 3000 ft of climbing. Six miles to the Post Office from the start and about 2k of climbing. Even with the downed trees this was a great ride, one of my favorites.

There's probably about 35 or so core members, but at least three times that number as far as members who are active or not. Many are on this site.

SART is nice almost anytime of year. We've ridden in all conditions including snow.

Thanks Lynn. I would definitely be interested in March. I just have alot of rides to do before the VQ and not alot of weekends to do them all.

just want to clear something real quick before people have a cow or two!! there's option to cut the ride short in case u get too worked or what ever the reason. I'm planning on doing the whole thing so if anyone wants to join all r welcome!!

i think Dean and Lynn are only doing a portion of this ride.

Using John Elliot Trail to get to the SART.

There is not a big different except for the start and end on John Elliot Trail. Plus you get a extra hour of bike time by not diving up the hill.

Doubt if there is enough daylight for me to do 40+ miles. Should I bring, my lights...just kidding.

Now Jose can knock down those miles. As a mostly out and back you can turn around and go back at anytime.

I have to wonder why VQ training rides need to be in the Santa Ana's. By the time the event came I would be more than tired of the same old routes. Besides I like tall timber.

Hey, if anyone wants to get in some good training, I'm pretty sure I'll fit in a Burley trailer.... just a thought. I wish I could do this ride. Looking forward to getting out on the trails with you guys again.
