I missed it, i got to the candy store around 815AM, i dont know if thats the meeting place as i dont see too many cars. drove around, i even got all the way up to Blue jay camp ground saw four vehicles parked.
so i spent all morning driving figuring out how to even get to the trail head. there's always next time.

Well that was fun... Sorry I was so late. I had no clue where to go until I got up to the San Jaun loop parking lot and took a second to look at the map. "oh crap, its looks like its by the fire station, ^%$." By the time I was rolling it was 8:38am on the GPS.
Fun day for my first ride up San Jaun. Met a lot of new people.

Thanks to the Supermann's for hosting another great ride! That was our first time riding up. I had a blast. Rog struggled on the climbs and just wasn't feeling it today. Thanks for the great encouragement on the uphill and letting me go 1st on the downhill. I have to admit that it was even sweeter having earned it by climbing up!!! STR rules!!! Have a happy Turkey day!!!

yeah, the parking lot was a little hard to find if you're looking for a "hot springs road" like the directions said. I initially drove about 10miles more up the mountain before i turned around
once there, that was nuts! ![]() my bike was awesome on the downhill. a little too awesome that led to a crash or two when going a little too fast. My front brake squeels pretty badly now so I have to figure out how to fix that. I'm so sore and I have to leave the house now for dinner in Palmdale, but i'll put up the few pictures i took when i get back. I have a sore scraped up shoulder, a forearm that's swolen so much it looks broken, and a slight headache from using my helmet primarily to cushion the fall. That and my knee is swollen and bruised though I don't remember hitting that on the way down. That was a blast. good meeting everyone today! ![]() p.s. I didn't care too much for all those bushes either. ![]() |

Great riding with everyone today. The climb wasn't that bad as far as traffic. It was some sight seeing everyone on the switchbacks. Bummed I didn't bring my camera. I just woke up from a much needed nap. Now it's time to eat...,again. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
