Default Trails in Simi Valley?

So i was up at one of our T-mobile office up in simi valley today for some training and noticed some really nice rolling hills and what looked like some trails? Anyone live out that way that would know of any good rides out there? I may from time to time go up there to help out my coworkers so i might just bring my bike w/ me and get in a ride during lunch or something

Our group, OTB, rides up there pretty regularly. You can find GPS tracks on motionbased from some of our rides, and check them out. Lots of good stuff there....

Hummingbird is great, you can climb up it or kinda shuttle it, you can drive to ther begging of the fireroad and hike or climb the fireroad[if you want something a little easier than climbing the singletrack] then decend down hummingbird. Its a great trail that is fun and rocky just please dont cut the switchbacks, we have been trying to stop people from doing that because it ruins the trail.

duan: y'all arent thinking of putting up a tower there, now are you??? consult with your local friendly biologist first...

I did one for Cingular a while ago and the only way it got built was that it was on a JPA pole on a road.

[SIZE=3]Where's OctoPussy when you need him most? He loves the G, mang!
Urban legends say he's built trails but in reality, he's only ridden them and gotten slapped by rangers for riding illegal ones.

Chumash climb and Hummingbird descent is the most common loop that I know of in Simi.
It's fun!

check my map - complete loop 11.6 miles. We were planning on an old route but new construction forced us to go South of the freeway. Construction boss "Get the F--- off my job site!"

Clockwise it is. Off the 118 West, Exit Kuehner, make a right and within 100 yards is where you park and start making your way (via streets) to Chumash. Great map and description provided just Caveman.

Joe, don't even mention G, yo. Octo/SMT is devising a fee structure/trailwork compensation program for riding "his" trail. Or haven't you been on the MTBR DH forum lately? Get with the times, dude.

No Octo-idiots allowed here.

I see this thread is a bit old but . . .

Hey Foo, if ya want a fun 16mi or so loop that includes Hummingbird, Chumash and no street riding (well, ya have to cross one street) drop me a PM. Not that it is a "forbidden" trail, I am just not in the mood to type that much right now.

Is there a trail section on this site as there was over at SoCal MyBikeSite? If so I can put the directions up in that thread.
