Default The Path - Fontana Ride 11-11-07

I'm planning on taking The Path ride to Fontucky this Sunday to get Lacey and Paulina reacquainted with the DH course. Jake is also comming along for his first time.
This will be a very laid back ride. If you have not ridden Fontana yet, and would like to check it out, this would be a GREAT chance to do so.
As far as I know, the course will not be marked. We will just be riding a lot of the often used sections.
There is NO Shuttle, we will pedal back up each time.

So, if you feel like going out and tuning up some dh skills, or leaning some new ones, feel free to come by The Path around 8:15 Sunday morning. We'll be leaving the shop by 8:30.

Thumbs up

We'll just meet up there in the parking lot up front, where registration usually is.
I'll be in a white Ford Escape.

Sure, 9:00 am should be good. I think if we'er gone from the shop by 8:30, we should get there without to much hassels.

You may not feel like it after PushaKona on Saturday.

Never been to Fontana but have been wanting to go n check i out for some time now with someone who knows the trail
This sounds sweet but since ive never been im not exactly sure what im in for as far as difficulty and cardio goes-planning on doing Push-a-Kona on sat and would hate to comitt and find out Fontana is killer and end up being miserable.

Little help on what Fontana is all about and whether its something i can cruise on or is it a tough trek?

if its DH your doing its not bad, maybee 10 to 15 minutes pushing up, if your doing XC i have no idea.

also 4X track is pretty fun for a warm up/ wind down.

Cool, kind of what i was hoping for...a day of fun downhill and not one big 15-20 mile trail of ups and downs but instead sounds like its something i can just pick sections of n spend all day going down and climbing back to work on improving my skills...right???

Yeah, that's pretty much what I have in mind for this ride. I'm bringing along two of my kids, and Tani's daughter, and we're just gonna cruz, and practice on the sections they want to work on.
Paulina, and Lacey are probably gonna be racing DH at the next event, and Jake too, if he shows the intrest.
Should be a fun day! Come on along and join us.
