Default Los Penasquitos singletrack on canyon floor

Is there any chance that the singletrack on the canyon floor of Los Penasquitos Preserve will ever be opened to bikes? What's the backstory here? Can we make it happen?

If you want the full history do a search over at MTBR for post by EBasil. I think he is the main guy that keeps our access for that trail.

Long story short someone has had to fight for every inch of bike access on that trail. A strong group of equestrians have influence over that trail and on any given day we could loose access before gaining any.

If you can see about going to meetings. After about a hundred of those it seems we get another 50' of trail.

If tunnels ever gets to be officially part of the preserve, it's got to be ours to share with the hikers. There's no way you can get a horse and rider through there, and they aren't going to be cutting down the dwarf oaks. I think they're endangered or something.

I know a small area of tunnels is part of the preserve but as you pointed out. But I if the horses can't play they won't want us or the hikers to enjoy it either.

The next SDMBA meeting will be 11/21 at 7 PM.
I'm not sure when the next SDCTC meeting will be but I think thats the group that works with LPQ the most. Check their respective sites...

For the record I have no idea how these meetings work. All the meetings are on nights that I work. All I ever see are the minutes and chat with board members on the trail.
