You don't know how right you are! The funny thing about the FRO- Sheclmbs likes me better with long hair. No hug unless I was fro'd out. What do you want me to do? ![]() In reality, there was an 80 year old ASIAN lady standing in the middle of the street waving at us... doing bike riding motions.... staring at us... smiling etc. (for 15 minutes) ![]() I decided it was time to put on the FRO and.... Needless to say, she was in shock. Covered her eyes, laughed, she thought I was nuts. I probably am..... All I know is we got rid of her! Anyone remember that?Anyway, another San Gab's ride in TWO weeks. Maybe sooner ![]()

The climb was a burner but I'd do it again.
[/quote]Yeah, the climb pretty much sucked, but the downhill more than made up for it. I would definately hit it again. Nice riding with you all and getting to meet you Nick, Scott, Liz, Vic, Mike, Lynn, and Henry. I had a blast today.

This was my favorite San Gab ride ever. And I've done many...
i don't know if I agree with you Andy, I think the climb made the decent that much sweeter. What great group too - of course the usual suspects, Scott, Dean, Nick and the Freak. Great to ride with A & A again. Nice to have the Epic boys along too, Vic and Henry great to see you both and of course some fresh new faces -Noel and Liz and Grandpa nice to meet you! Dino Brown, you're in a class of your own baby! Thanks to everyone for making this such a fun and memorable day. DB, maybe someday you too can be in Steppie's inner circle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great RR you guys. I wanna ride Wilson in 2 weeks with y'all! This is the second time I've missed a San Gabriel ride.
That's an intense MTB face Noel. I bet you scared the bear away.

It was a beautiful day in the mountains today as 13 of us shuttled to the trailhead. I got to sit in front because I tend to hurl on windy roads.(Thanks guys!) The trail is one of the most beautiful in the San Gabs that I have ever done. A true sensory overload for the nose and eyes. Laurel trees..AKA bay leaves line the trail from the bottom to the top. The smell is fantastic and the sun can barely pierce the dense tree tops. The trail is covered with crackling brown pine needles in some spots that crunch as you ride over them and yellowing oak and laurel leaves in other spots. It was never terribly hot due to the shade but it made for sketchy pictures in some primo spots.
The 5 mph gnats were not out! Hally-lew-ya! Uphill and downhill switchbacks were thrown in on plenty of places on this trail and some were cleaned and others were not! Leaning against a tree after a hard effort doesnt count as a dab does it?? Well, maybe a little! Kudo's to Vic! Wasn't he the one that was sick? Sorry if I am mistaken! You didn't look to good there for awhile but I think I shoved your butt around an uphill switchback and you returned the gesture for me later! TEAMWORK!! ![]() At the top, some kicked back with a cigarette(ok,only one) and some had their throats set on fire by ultra peppery sandwiches! There is a rock up there with about 15 peppers under it! How cool was that to hang out and just chill and collect ourselves for the upcoming rock and roll fest! I loved it!What a rock and roll fest it was! Just beautiful! You better wear your seatbelt though! Decomposed granite makes for some slippery sh*t with a 100 foot drop 8" hard inches away! The 500 year old oak was AWESOME!! Thanks to Henry (Maniacal)(??) for knowing some history! What a freakin' blast that was! On my old bike doing a cool ride with great people. I only crapped my pants twice on a couple sections!!! Not bad eh?I had a nice full weekend with you STR people! Thanks for everything! And extra special thanks to Grandpa for taking off my shoes and fixing them. You rock stud! ![]() Disclaimer to Dino and Allison: I am too tired to try and learn to upload with text but I will go over Allisons PM instructions tomorrow and call Dino if I have to. Thanks!
