Lower Sam Merrill Trail- Cool on Weekedays?

I'm sure that I don't like upper Merrill......or more specifically don't feel comfortable riding there. Lower is great fun and middle is good too.

Rode JPL/Millard/Mt Lowe/Sunset/El Prieto loop today. The parking lot was packed at 645am, but surprisingly we saw very little bike/hiker traffic on the trails. That loop was quite the butt kicker. This was also my first time down Sunset. Excellent singletrack!
