Nice stuff Bill. Brings back fond memories. Easily one of the best places I've ridden.

how do most of you get there? drive?

mapquest'd it's exactly 500 miles from my house, that's roughly $120 or so round trip for gas. Plus food and shuttle that's a $200 weekend. probably more with the overnight stay, but I really want to go before I never have the chance to. $15 for an all day shuttle correct?

Yes, drive. If you go with a group and split gas, lodging, etc. it's not too bad. The shuttle is a ride to the top. What you do after that is up to you. Just ride back into town. You can easily do two shuttles a day though. Morning run, eat lunch back in town, then an afternoon run. I forget the rate but Yuba Expeditions and Downieville Outfitters are the providers. It may be too late now for this year though.

What bad a** video. Major props for the editing, you did a really awesome job not only video but audio as well. Can I ask how long you spent on this? I think this is the best vid I have seen all year. Thank you so much for doing this.

Geez, hard to say, doing the videos is a creative outlet for me. So I'll tinker with a video quite a bit until I feel I got it the way I want it. Sometimes they come together in a few hours, and sometimes I have spent several dozen hours on a project. Generally whenever I'm listening to any kind of music, I casually think about wither it is good video music or not. The three tunes in this video had been on "the list" for quite some time. I generally don't count selecting the music as part of time spent on the project. Usually, I'll be on the trail and the music for the video pops into my head.

I had two tapes from the trip so that is about 2 hours of reviewing and inporting the first cuts into the computer from the camera. That was about 40 mins of footage.

Over the course of a couple of months put in about 14-16 hours on the video. The biggest single chunk of editing time was maybe 4 hours when I cut the video down to about it's final length. The rest of the sessions were usually around 30 mins long where I was swap out clips, tinker with the timing and transitions etc... In this case I got to a point where I liked it. Some of my other videos, I got bored with and posted them as is, while some others are most likely permenantly on the cutting room floor.
