RR: Tahoe Meadow, TRT

Had to get one last shot at Tahoe this season. Headed up to the lake Friday afternoon. By late Friday night the temp had dropped to 25 and we could feel the moisture in the air.
We woke up to a sunny sky and a beautiful dusting of snow on the ground at lake level and we were heading up to Tahoe Meadows which is a few thousand feet higher up.
The trail head was well covered with snow so off we went for our adventure.
For the first few miles there was no one out there but us and the critters... Mountain Lion?
Once we hit the ridge, and the sun hit the trail the snow melted pretty quickly.
It's still very dry so I hope this is sign that there will be an early fall with lots of precipitation. They really need it.
As always the TRT never disappoints. This is actually a wonderful time to be up there. You have the crisp weather, the trail is in perfect condition slightly tacky but not too wet and you can still end the day down by the lake in the sunshine.
We even got to see the fall colors, you can see the trees are starting to turn. The Aspens are right in mid-shift from green to golden.

Nicely done Lynn...Ahhh bummer...I guess I won't have a chance to make it back this year, but I'm really looking forward to spending a week up there next year!
