Blackstar to Skyline DH & Back
I finally got the ride in that I"ve been trying to do the last couple of weekends! This time there were no shuttle trucks & locked gates Skyline Shuttle....NOT! , or poor girls with broken collar bones Blackstar to Skyline....Almost .
Just me and my HOSS after work Wenesday morning!  My route would take me up Blackstar, past Beek's Place & the Golfball, up Main Divide for a mile or two, down one of the Skyline (aka Troy Lee) trails, and back up Skyline, to Blackstar, and back to my car. It ended up being 26.5 miles on my Garmin Forerunner. (thanks CPATCRASH) The DH was FUN!! Full of steep chutes, some twists and turns, and a couple of steep up's to break it up. Enough talk, here's the pics! Who's this guy, and why are his wheels bigger than mine?  The trailhead  a look back at the golfball from the trailhead  epic DHing  looking back at the first chute  who say's there's no UP in DH?  looking back at what I've gone down so far. Notice the golfball on the right.  It just keeps going....  This chute was steep and soft.  This one was FUN!  and going.....  and going......  steep & loose up close.  one of the last steep chutes before the bottom.  It was well worth the climbing to, and from, the trail. There are a few more that I still want to check out, so if any of you feel like pedaling up a couple of fireroads to do some epic DH's, just let me know.

I vote to make the Golf Ball the official STR shrine. I love this trail.

damn it, I just drooled all over myself. That route never occured to me. Thanks for posting this and let me know when your planning another. If I wasn't working ......let me rephrase, if I wasn't at work, I'd being doing this ride right now.
