To my knowledge no one hurt no major problems. I did catch a pedal on a rock on Brake Through and did the Superman over the bars...minor scratches. Just got home ..we finished our last run about 4:30.
To me when the snow is right it is the best riding out there. I ride much stronger when it is cold. Thanks to all, the weekend was outstanding. Bummer is that chose conditions and being able to ride that mounatain does not happen often. I feel very blessed to have been there...as my friend Scott always says...it's all about the timing. Special thanks the Jeff for putting us up and sharing your family with us, watching your kids ride the bikes was one of the highlights of my weekend...you truely are gracious and I am lucky to have you as a friend. ![]()

Got home safe and sound last night at 10pm! What a great weekend!!! Most memorable Mammoth trip to date.
And yes, we got snowed on - Saturday it started at 9am and snowed all day. The top was blizzard conditions in the afternoon and the backside did get some snow flurries but it was sunny and cold. RR and pics coming soon!!I forgot to add that Roger did the log jump (on Sunday after Saturday's snow storm), went to slow and slid in the big whole that had formed in the landing (cutting open the palm of his hand). Then he tried to do a huck off a rock at the end of the ride down Shotgun, went to slow and went over the bars and bruised some ribs.

V.P. Kickstand Inspection
|
Hey Dean, got home safe around 10:30pm last night.
This past weekend was one of the most awsome weekend of riding for me. Tim (JasonMason) and I pulled up into Mammoth around 1pm on Friday. We decided to go straight over to Footloose (bike shop) to check out the demo bikes, since Tim was planning on renting a "Demo" for the weekend. As we're outside peddling some bikes around I hear, "Hey have you inspected all those kickstands?" Hahaha, I couldn't see who it was at first but I was Justin, Allison, Nam and the one gloved kid, Ryan. They told us that they we meeting Den Mother and Roger and others to ride Lower Rock Creek. Tim and I couldn't have had better timing. So changed into some riding clothes and headed for LRC. When we got there it started to rain...ok dress to stay dry. Since we were doing the shuttle it took about 30min to get the cars down the road and all drivers back with keys in hand. While we were waiting it really started to pour, everyone was trying to stay dry and gather their gear. Tjen as we were starting to take off it suddenly stopped. That rain ended up being a real blessing, LRC couldn't have been in better condition, so nice and tacky. The line up was Nancy, Roger, Winston, Jeff (Hoosierdaddy), Justin, Allison, Nam, Ryan, Tim and me. The next two days of riding were unbelievable. I was planning on hitting the xc trail. I had no idea they were so many trails that were rideable on my xc bike. I was a little apprehensive, never ridden in the snow. Wow was I in for a treat. Both days were absolutely fantastic. The first day it was snowing, but we decided to go all the way to the top. Our group of xc riders for the first few runs was Dean, Lynn, Scott, Matt, Ian and me. We took the gondola all the way to the top and did Off the Top to Beach Cruiser for our first run….I had no idea riding in the snow was so much fun, and it made the trails so nice and tacky. Of course we had the cold to contend with. Most of us through borrowing extra gloves or layers of some kind on the trails, we managed to keep frost bite to a minimum (jk). Our next run we went to the top again, riding down Skid Marks, to Break Through, and Downtown, if my memory serves me right. (umm, nm). We hit up many trails throughout the day, Paper Route also comes to mind. Sunday the skies were clear, but the night had left plenty of snow at the top. It was mid-level runs for us all day. We still had plenty of trails to play on. It was much warmer and we started losing layers by mid day. We hit, in no particular order, Break Through, Paper Route, Flow, Timber Line, oooooooh, I’m missing so many I’m sure. Again, the trails were so nice and tacky in the morning, but some were some were getting a little loose and muddy by mid day. Jeff (Hoosierdaddy) joined our group on Sunday as well as Tin, (nice meeting you Tin). Overall it was one of my favorite trips all year. Thanks to all my friends for making it happen. Thank you Jeff and Melanie for opening up your home to us. And Jeff as always it is great to hear some of your mountain biking adventures. Tell Colby to practice cause I'll be ready for him next time, your son and daughter Reagan were so precious. Thanks Tim for doing all the driving this weekend, I can only hope my co-piloting skills helped make the time fly by. Thank you Jeff (Hoosierdaddy) for lending me the ff-helmet and goggles, they were a big help. Dean, Lynn and Scott it is always great riding with you, And thanks to everyone else who showed and made it special. YOU know who you are. I know I left out a bunch of names...but I'm trying to do this as I work and it's not easy. =)
