As many of you know; Fullerton asks that citizens stay off the Loop until "the end of the rainy season". This sucks

I had a small window of opportunity and rode here on Sunday.
Trails were is very good shape. A couple of mud bogs behind the lake and some fun rut & rock fields on East ridge.
There was however, about 8 thousand hikers. I had to pretty much scrub all speed on the downhills, to avoid spooking the family hikes.
It made the uphills a little more challenging - A little tougher workout from Peters, which was nice.

Peter's Canyon was open this morning about 10am. Don't know if it stayed open all day or not.

Rode Peter's cyn tonight along with Santiago Oaks. Peter's is in good shape except for a few sandy spots. Brush has been trimmed on most trails. Saw quail, rattlesnake. Lots of wild heliotrope in bloom and sage. Santiago Oaks is OK, but parts are in need of brush cutting. Especially bitch #2. The short singletrack off the top past Robber's Peak before Chutes is now a canyon about 4 feet deep in spots. Chutes is fine. Water crossings no problem although the crossing behind Villa Park dam was officially closed for some reason.
