Great RR and pics from everyone. Bummed I missed this one, but sometimes it is better to keep the wife happy.

Gene, Chris, good stuff putting this one together. I can see this ride becoming a regular STR event. It's fun times.

Neil,

Your camera takes some amazing photos for a point a shoot!!! I realized that I have yet to land on an actual landing off of a jump. Notice I almost always land on flat when hucking

Wheres my Evil Knievel suite?

It was great meeting and riding with everyone. This ride was so fun I'd love for it to be a monthly thing if possible. Also thanks to all that showed concern for my battered ankle.

Thanks to everyone who showed up! I am really glad that everyone had a good time. I was worried when the temps started going up that everyone was going to hate it but just like any trip, it isn't the distance or the heat, it is the company youre riding with. I couldn't think of a better group.

I am really proud of Elvie, Traci and Julia for finishing strong. I know you guys were in the beginning stages of heat exhaustion and tired and sore, but you made it!

Thanks to Greg for showing the way so I could sweep. Thanks to Neil and Gene for relieving me as sweeper for a bit so I could drop the hammer and see how the rest of the group was doing.

It was really good to see Adam out on this ride.

Most of all I am glad that there were no major wrecks or mechanicals or heat injuries.

The spirit of our group was best shown when Traci and Elvie finished to applause, hoots and whistles.

Nice ride today people. It was damn hot out there!

Props to all those who rode and extra props to those who rode the extra credit. You already got your just reward just for being along for the ride though.

HUge props to Chris (s-boats), John (KWH), Gene and Gregg (OMR) for organizing and leading the event. It was a furnace out there with a full spectrum of rider talent and these guys kept it cool, fun and safe.

For me it's always great to hit new dirt but meeting and riding with new faces is the best part.

My saga - pull into o'neil and find gate closed and a few others waiting to drive in. was so f'n tired almost fell asleep waiting in queue, Kitted up in a daze and stumble over to say hi to the few others i know and we get rolling.

Had a leaky camelback bladder and a bit of sh!tty shifting as had tweaked chain link but was so lazy decide to ride it instead of busting/replacing. overall no big deal - and much better than sawing of my granny on the trail .

Personally while most def crazy hot, the heat really didn't bother me too much but had what i thought was a adequate hall pass that slowly got tighter and tighter as the riding went on. Planned on hitting the extra credit with John and the gang but after waiting time atop climb thought otherwise hoping to get home before i turned into a pumpkin. Turns out those crazy cats beat us to the punch line even with the 4+ extra miles tacked on

Fun riding through "jungle" and stream crossing (still have no ideas where that water is coming from). While a few other charged the kicker decided to roll it to keep my back in check. Finally got to ride a bit with Chris on last leg back to the barn as he was relieved of his sweeping duties (hehehe i said doody). Unfortunately, i had to make a mad dash to truck and felt bad could only say some quick goodbyes and was gone. Really wanted to hang a bit witht the gang

So arrive home, take a quick shower and find my 1.5 year old son, waiting outside the bath room. Ask him whats up and he grabs me by the hand, leading me to my gear that i left on the floor, picks up my helmet and places it on my head and "tells me" he wants me to take him for a ride. Holy cr@p i think, its' blazin' out there now, We're both gonna fry. So he's te boss, throw him in the trailer, ride around the neighborhood. I could tell the heat was working him (not me of course ) so after 30-40 minutes we're headin back home. Damn, I love that kid- guess i did get my extra credit ride in after all.

Again, i had a blast (great to finally meet OMR, Shecky, hoosierdaddy, c-dubb and CC- doesn't get any nicer than her) thanks to everyone who planned, "managed" and joined in. great job to all the newbies!!!

c u next time!!

btw- if you don't know it by now this guy is the f'n man. constantly putting everyones' needs, safety, and fun ahead of his own. Gene thanks again for doing such a great job (not to take anything away from any of the other leaders or sweepers)

SAR Boats - Thank you for a great ride! My little girl said it was fun and she just thought everyone was so nice. She wants me to say thank you to everyone on the ride.

SAR Boats - Thank you for hanging with me!

Gene - Thank you for hanging with me and talking me to continue and letting me know it was so close.

I feel better Julia tells me she felt the same way, she thought the end would never come. Mainly because she was feeling sick from the heat. Of course this little girl is on a mission or something. She said I wasn't going to stop.

She's now telling me...Mom you need to ride Whiting more. Also just reminded me - I must make it to my Peters Canyon ride tomorrow.

Traci, Megan, Neil thank you for riding with me. Neil thanks for putting on my new chain on my bike. I'll have to take it into you to tighten the screws on the front tire. I thought the front tire was going to fall off.

Me Jefe - Thanks for finding my riding gloves - ended up losing the Oakley's

Mtnbikerfred - Thanks for showing up on our Tuesday ride and instructing us and encouraging us. Today I could tell how much we have improved. Remember you said I'll be jumping off boulders.

It was nice riding with everyone hope to see you all soon.

-Elvia
