Default RR: O'Neill Tijeras Creek Arroyo Trabuco Newbie Ride

Another awesome ride Gene! I counted 55 riders! It was great meeting alot of new people along the way and showing some riders some new trails. We had awesome cool weather and even a couple bouts of light rain. Can't wait until the next one!

Thanks to Gene, STR and the Warriors Society for supporting the event.

Awesome ride today! Gene thank you for organizing this event and providing some "Adult Drinks" for the cool off after the ride. This has now become my favorite trails so far of all the stuff I've ridden and hopefully I'll be back there soon.

Very fun ride today. I had some misgivings in that it was a newbie ride and I wanted a few more miles. Well, thanks to John & Keith (Warriors & SHARE) we got what we came for. Awesome little singletrack ride and we got to ride at a faster pace, without long wait times, not that I mind it was just a pleasent suprize not to. Really enjoyed that extra credit part and that step downhill was a blast. I wish I could of seen Jose wave to his back end when it slid up next to him. Really big group and major kudo's to Gene for bringing up the rear and watching out for our newer riders.

Gene you da man!!!

gawd, I wish I had more patience.

Thumbs up We are truley a blessed Tribe...

First, major props to Gene for organizing and hosting the Tijieras Creek/Trabucco Arroyo ride today. The smiles on the faces were well worth the effort. Gene is an extremely humble person and would be the first to say that it's all the others that have made this possible.... but, Gene is still the catalyst that made this ride happen... Too bad Gene, you get major props anyway!!!!

Second, very proud to ride with the guys and girls today... so great to see such a diversity of people coming from different backgrounds and social status... all coming together because they love to ride a bike. From the guys off the front with John's group to the back of the group, I saw nothing but encouragement and laughter. It really didn't matter how fast you were... it mattered only if you were having fun. It's not often that we can all come together... but when we do.. it's a force to consider! Great job everybody.

Special thanks to Karen for showing us where not to go in the last major stream crossing. We didn't realize that the hole was THAT deep! She does now, however...

Also special props to Justin and Allison for riding up Indian TT and down West Horse Thief to meet us and then do the ride. They had to ride back up Holy Jim and back down ITT to get back to their cars... great effort guys. Justin is making sure that Allison will make the West Horse Thief cut-off time come Vision Quest. You guys have my respect for the mileage today. See you on the 15th of next month for Noble!

Great to put names with so many faces. Proud to be associated with some many great people.

OMR

PS: Appreciation to John for the unknown beverages afterwards.... and to Chris Vargus/Warriors for ice cold sodas as well...

What a great ride. I loved how we were mostly in tree cover the whole day. The stream crossings were really fun. I liked the one where you cross and immediately you go through a cave of trees and it's all dark. That was awesome.

Those doubles near the little jump were insane. One day I may have the cajones for that stuff. Maybe after getting back in to BMX.

Thanks for an awesome ride everyone.

Thumbs up to Gene and all the riders

Gene.........thnx for organizing the fun today!

Quite a ride today. Lots of new faces and a chance to match names(user and real) with faces. Met some new folk along the way and that's always a good sign. My wife said it best when i got home...."you don't seem to have any jerks on your rides"........nope........not in this group......

Gonz.......nice hole drop thru the creek....how dare you muddy up your new bike

See y'all next time!

Way to go Surlygal....you're kickin' some a** these days.......like you said....confidence.......and you got it!

Can't wait to see all the photos when Allison finishes the long trek home and uploads them

This ride has been one of my favorites ever since I did i9t with Jordan a few months back.

Thanks for setting this up Gene and thanks for sweeping as usual. Thanks to the warriors for the tasty beverage products.

I am very proud of Marcy for not only riding with blood poisoning in her leg, but also for getting back up after crashing on that leg and then finishing ahead of her husband.

I am also proud of Traci for gutting it out and finishing stong despite 2 tires that were going flat, the cactus spines in her hand and leg and her need to pee.

It was nice to meet new people. 2 definately stand out: The guy in the realtree kilt (can't remember name), and CeeDub's g/f Sharon who provided us with a pleasant view at certain times of the ride (no offense Chris)
