My son has a scout outing at Corona del Mar this Sat. I am hoping I can get away for a couple hours mid-moring or around noon. I looks like El Morro is the closest trail. The question is can this be done in a couple hours or so? Have never ridden there so I am a bit clueless. Keep in mind I am a better at climbing than descending.![]() |

53-12: To answer your question Yes!
El Moro is just a couple minute from Corona del Mar, and there are a variety of trails available that let you vary the length of time on the trail. If you have a state parks parking pass, or if you don't mind paying the $10 day use fee, then parking in the lot next to the elementary school on PCH means that most of your return is downhill, so timing your return is easy. If you like climbing, there are several good options there, depending on your fitness and your trail preferences. "I Think I Can" is a good fireroad climb. "No Dogs/No Name Ridge" has some good ups, and dropping down "Ticketron" past the campground to Red Tail Ridge is pretty and leads to several good return options. Have fun!
