Default Please be careful in Aliso

Lately while riding in Aliso especially on Coyote Run I have been coming across small(12-14 inch) what appear to be rattlesnakes. These little guys are just chillin on the trail, soaking up the heat at the end of the day. I usually ride from 5 - 7pm. They do not move out of your way and they take a little coaxing with a tree branch to get them to move off the trail. Let's try to not run them over and take 2 minutes of your time to get them off the trail to ensure that no one else does either...

They will really appreciate it

I saw one of the pretty little rattle-buggers while going down Cholla (weekday, no traffic). Cute lil thing that just meandered along about his way, into the brush.

Not like the dayum redheads out there Those things rattle even when you think they've left

Cool pics, I like checking out all the wildlife on my rides. I always ride Turnbull and never knew that all the critters ive seen there even existed in my backyard. I helped a black tarantula off the trail the other day.

Yikes, I'm always afraid that I'm going to run one over but I've got some eagle eye for snakes. Thank goodness.

Last Wednesday we ran into a big rattler out at Tijeras that would NOT move off the road. He wasn't mad when we were there but the bikers before the warned us that he was pretty pissed at them. He didn't even budge when a rock landed near him! We ended up back tracking and finding a better route out.

I have yet to see one rattler in CHSP. I see plenty of king snakes and milk snakes, though. We get the milk snakes in our backyard, which is fine with me.

Default Try this...

Here is my usual procedure:
  1. Keep your eyes open.
  2. When you see a critter, don't slow down, dummy. PIN IT!
  3. Throw a "cutty" about 2 feet before the lil' dude and be sure
