Mammoth help

Gents and Ladies:

Me and group of friends are heading to mammoth in 2 weeks. Does anyone know of any good rides on the way to mammoth? something around 10 to 20 miles.

There are plenty. Lower Rock Creek is a good one.

Owens Valley which the 395 runs thru is extremely hot this time of year, so lower desert rides are out. There are some epics up above Bishop to the east, & the White Mountain area. Lower Rock Creek is on the way, but is only 20 miles south of Mammoth. If you have an extra night or 2 hit the Kernville area for some great riding. You can take Sherman Pass, follow the road & it will drop you back on the 395 south of Lone Pine for your trip to Mammoth. I don't think without detours there's going to be much else this time of year.
