Allison, it was nice meeting you and Jason at Snow Summit and thanks for all the great pix you took! I look forward to riding with you and Jason at Mammoth.

I dunno... Andy looked like he rather enjoyed banging that seat from the look of the last photo.

Definitely!! Just make sure Mara doesn't hit up the bad trails with us if she's going

BTW, no biggie, but it's Justin *everyone* calls him Jason, though! (Including my grandma.)

Damn, wish I'd made it up to sunday's ride - was planning to until i rode the loop saturday evening and cracked my chainstay... Not really a good excuse anyway, as it was a demo day and all! Looks like everyone had a fun up there.

Had a great time at the poker ride saturday though, met a ton of new people, remembered more faces from the ride thursday. What a fun community y'all are...can't wait to get out riding with you guys again soon

Wow...I'm a little bummed I didn't decide to go after all. I rode SART on Sat and thought I would just do a local trail on Sunday so I wasn't gone all day.

Do any of the women have some feed back on bikes they demo'd? Actually let's hear everyone chime in on what they thought about the demo bikes. I'm going to rent a bigger bike for Mammoth this weekend, but eventually I want to get one and would love to hear your comments.

Thanks!

The Yeti ASX was awesome. It's their freeride bike and they had it set up with a Fox Talas 36 which kept the weight under 40 lbs. I took it for a few laps yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even pedaling it uphill wasn't too bad with 2 chain rings. I rode the small which was fine for DH riding, but I am 5'8 and it felt a little small in the cockpit when riding with the seatpost up higher. I do have long arms/hands too.

For a 6" bike, I really like the Yeti 575. Very, very light and nimble for a 6" bike. The one I rode was a medium and fit perfect. I also rode the Chumba Evo (S/M) but preferred the 575.

Nice to meet you though, we still need to hit up some nice DH some time. Maybe we can go up to Big Bear, I am not so worried now about their restrictions!!!
We do trail ride also, but looks like you guys are way more skilled than we are on the small bikes. I leave the hucking to the Socom, just don't like going big on my 6" trail bike.

Yesterday was all about speed and how many runs everyone could get in. The only time we stopped was to fix flats (Roger got 3 yesterday). Roger broke the hangar on his 6.6 on the first run and had to ride my Shova ST all day. My Intense 1ply tires did not hold up to his extra weight!!! BUT, he did admit that my bike was really fast and fun on the DH!!! (He rides a Large and my bike is a medium so he didn't enjoy climbing).

If I can swing it (e.g. they have them available) I think I'm going to demo a Demo8 at Mammoth for next Sat. Just wear flats instead of clipless.. I really need to get more comfortable doing that, since it's nice to bail off without having to think about it!

Still bringing the Enduro up for the shuttle ride on Sunday, though.

That, or Justin will ride a Demo 8 and I'll get to play on the Socom more

CC - I just rode my Enduro all day yesterday, but the demo bikes were definitely busy being used all day!

I rode a medium Slayer SXC and LOVED every minute! It climbed nice, descended great, and it was huckable.

Allison was also nice enough to allow me a run on her Enduro. I really liked the feel of it too.

I gave the bike to my neighbor's 5 yr old daughter, she's tall for her age, she'll be able to ride it in a year. He first comment was: "I don't like it, it's a boy's bike". then 5 minutes later she wanted to ride it . Jason her dad was very happy.

Thank you to everybody involved, it was great.

Hello,

Glad to hear you were able to demo those bikes. I think a better comparison for the 575 would be our XCL. Our EVO borders a bit more on light freeride. For a pure trail/XC bike that could take hits, pedal, and handle in a similar category as the 575, the XCL is likely a better fit. Sorry I had to throw in a shameless plug as well.

A.

I wasn't getting enough exercise coming down the trail so I thought I'd run instead. It was a faster running than riding.
