Default RR: Claremont Up - Marshall Down (7/28)

Great meeting everyone! I'm horrible with names and all I can remember is Roadhog, XPC-Superman, and a kid everyone was calling Hitler. I have the names Vince and Tim floating around in my head, too.

Anyway, my route was a little different. My ride was more...Marshall up, Claremont down, Claremont back up, and Marshall down.

Here are some of the particulars:

On the way up Marshall, I passed around 100 joggers on the trail. It was crazy.

I'm pleased to say that there were no injuries today and everyone got to the end of the ride intact. It cool to see these young kids tooling up the mountain with their endless energy. Reminds me how out of shape my old ass is.

I hope Yeti doesn't read this post because I have to admit that I took a little spill going down Claremont Loop. He might admonish me for falling on a fireroad. Front tire washed out around a turn. Silly, I know...

whoa, when did you guys go? I was there this morning with my brother and caught the last part of those joggers (local h.s?). We got there and caught about 20 coming downhill as we went up.

I was going to meet up with you guys, but the grind up Potato Mt. took its toll on me, so I ended up going back down Marshall, rather than drop into Claremont. I was reminded again this morning why I don't ride this on Sat. mornings, the most traffic I have ever seen on the trail!

I was up at Marshall myself today I started out at daybreak and finished around 8:15-8:30 am. It was fairly crowded then and of course more so later in the morning. When I returned to the parking lot people were waiting to park! I have never seen it this packed with people. Everyone was friendy, but I wish the hikers would not hike abreast. With a group of 3 coming up the trail and a group of 3 heading down , there is litlle room for a biker to pass!

I'm generally pretty respectful of others on the trail, but this morning I was really annoyed with all the joggers.

Not because they were on the trail, but most of the oncoming joggers I came across on the way up Marshall didn't know the concept of staying to the right.

The joggers and hikers we came across on the way back down were awesome. They parted like the Red Sea when I came by.

Nope. We started up Claremont at 9:30am and finished up at Marshall.

Couldn't have been me. I drive a white Geo Metro. Those 3 cylinders couldn't make that car fly by a dead raccoon on the side of the road.
