What is considered a good lap time for the Fullerton Loop considering all 11 miles? Court house parking lot start going clockwise.

Geoladders has the average time posted at 1:06. The best I've done is 1:01, but I bet there are people who can bust this out in 45min or so.

My best solo lap is 58 minutes. Usually the prelap on thursdays we have been doing it in about 1hr 20min and the second loop with everyone about 1hr 40min depending on how many stops are made or problems.

Legend has it that sarah (sauce on STR) did 6 laps in under 6 hrs.

I've never timed myself on the lap so couldn't say.

Sounds like Mario. He's "mp3" here and rides for sho-air. Nice guy.

I've done it in about an hour and that includes extra credits and waiting for my friend. I've never tried to go as fast as I can, but I may this Thurs. I'll be there for the prelap and I'm riding the Rocky Mountain HT/geared.

The golf course and dam are "extra credit"!??! I've been doing those as part of my normal Loop.

My best time so far (car back to car) has been about 1h 25min.

I love the Loop! It's fun and satisfying in a way that's very different from other trails to me... not sure exactly why.

The 40 minute times from some guys associated with the Fullerton Bike shop are very realistic. I used to know some of those guys, and they're freakin' animals. They were doing low 40s years ago. I believe some of them are riding cross bikes, so I'd bet they're much faster (one of them was a CAT 1 road racer).

I don't time myself often, because without a warmup, it just kills me. So I hate to start cold (and never seem to warm up).

I do remember I did 50 on the singlespeed a couple years ago, which beat my previous best of 54 on a gearie, but haven't timed myself on an mtb since. I'm not in as good of shape as I was then, so I wouldn't expect to be as fast anymore. However, I recently rode the loop from my home near Beach and Malvern on a cross bike, and I did 64 minutes - again, without a warmup. That really sucked going up Rosecrans, hitting dirt and then really climbing.

Funny you should ask. This afternoon I beat my old record and clocked 58:56, start to finish, no stops. It was 50 seconds off my previous record, and it took some effort to do it. I can't even imagine a sub-55 lap time -- it's got to hurt bad.

What's an "extra credit?"

Some people consider skipping the dam area "The Full Loop." Some don't do the fenceline. Some veer to the right rather than climbing the steep hill at the dam.

I consider the Full Loop to be the route we take on Thursday's- that includes all of the extra credits, the golf course AND the steep climb at the dam area!!!!!

The Fullerton Loop is like a fine wine that is meant to be savored. Those who rush it miss out on the subtle bouquet.

My brother in-law is one of those high 40's / low 50's riders. It's no fun trying to ride with him. Kinda like playing golf with a scratch golfer and you're a 20 handicap. Way too serious for me.

I'm right around 1:15 these days - Rusty, you are way too fast for me anymore.............
