Default RR: Daley Ranch

Not many of the OC peeps are down in the San Diego area, but if by chance you are, and looking for some decent climbing, Daley is your place. It's somewhat nicer than probably some other city/county parks as it has some nice shade, porta-potties, and free Arrowhead (cold) spring water available at the Ranch House. There are a few fun singletracks, and some challenging fire road climbs. Nothing epic, but we easily got in 16.5 miles and over 2500ft of climbing on Saturday.

Justin and I rode with Woody and Jen. We hit up a new climb and singletrack, and added some additional climbing to what we normally do. If we go out there again I may try to do photos and waypoints for GeoLadders, but we'll see how it goes.

The boys did a lot of waiting up for me when we started out.

In addition to being slower (admittedly, I was on a much heavier bike than they were!!), my front tire kept spewing Stan's out at me as the tire went round n round n round... Same hole I had up in Kernville a few weeks ago. Sometimes the gunk just comes loose I guess, and it takes a bit of time to fully reseal.

I went ahead on the first singletrack descent to get photos of a rock jump.

Little did I know the boys had switched bikes, and since they didn't have compatible pedals they were riding along with no clips or shoe surface. Thanks for messing up the photo op beeshes!!

Lizard huck

I spent much of the day suffering along slowly on the climbs

At the water tank

Climbing up the Old Tank Trail singletrack for the first time

Going back to hit a tricky spot

Cleaned it!

So did Justin

View from Stanley's Peak

Start of the Cardiac climb

Jen following Justin up the tough section

Where I gave out (normally I make it up to the rock - this was a MUCH cleaner climb than normal, but really loose)

The third part of the climbing before the fun Bobcat singletrack

Rock hucks

Jen's a stud, so she hit it also

More climbing...

Woody making a pass on Justin

Me descending Crest

Still

After the ride we went to Beyond Bikes to visit some buddies. I got a pair of Adidas (mens) bibs for road riding, a new front tire, and we got two new vids. I was looking forward to watching Progression on my dad's flat screen TV, but we haven't had time.

After dinner at Justin's mom's place we drove home.

Can't beat that for a Saturday!!

Nice RR--as usual. Wish I could've joined you guys.

The next time I ride Daley and take pics, I'm gonna send 'em to you with a short narrative and let you do my RR for me

haha!! dude, daley isn't that bad it reminds me quite a bit of most of the parks in OC, only it's closer for us. Not as technical descents either, though.

Good riding with you guys, again. We'll have to do the Hodges ride at some point. Mebbe this weekend.

Sorry I didn't get the PM also!! Wasn't really online much last week. Let us know if you're back down south and we'll do a ride.
