Default Westridge Graded?

Can anyone verify this section of Westridge? This WAS one of the funner sections.

OMG!!! I am crying, looking at this picture. Last week the road was graded but this it too much! Was that really necessary?

It's not rideable, we'll have to wait for hikers to pack it down a bit and make some lines... it's all deep powder and loose rock. The best, local quick fun, workout ride is now gone for a season or two.

as for why.... Can't have the Governer's house burn down in Mandeville canyon on the 4th of July can we?

I'm not familiar with this area and don't really know who the managment entity is but you really can stop this from happening. Talk to your land managers. We recently got some grading stopped in Crystal Cove and Irvine Open Space. Don't just sit back and watch your trails get destroyed. Even the roads do not need grading this year. Talk to someone.

Well, it's obviously to late now. We've all suspected sully canyon might get graded but I don't think anyone expected Westridge singles. There was no warning, no public notice, etc -- unless it was very limited in scope. The gas company has rights to Sully cyn so if they decide to grade it, as they do ocassionally, there is no recourse. If we had known ahead of time about Westridge, I'm doubtful we could have swayed the forces that be. Who knows.

It really SUCKS. They already have a wide fire-road on Westridge but they felt like getting a jump on fire break just because the canyon next door is filled with multi-million dollar mansions -- including the Governor's. Short sighted morons desecrating the wilderness while prentending to be good stewards. Some wilderness area it is now. Might as well put in a row of mansions. Goodness knows, it's getting awful crowded up there and there's no more room for new mansions.

By the way, Chopper, what methods did you use to prevent bulldozing in your neck of the woods? It's worth knowing if these morons are planning on destroying Sully ridge too, or Kenter/the whoops. I'd gladly help in any effort to prevent further destruction out there.

Well that blows!!! I've only ridden there a few times, but I thought it was a great trail to play on. I wonder what else they have in mind for "improvements".
