The work they're doing is to the tracks. It appears that they're digging under the ties and replacing the dirt with gravel.
I was there last week when the heavy equipment was pushing rocks around. The first driver hand signaled me, asking if I was headed his way, I motioned in his direction, and he allowed me to safely pass. The second driver was at the other end of the trail, near the golf course. He saw me coming, stopped, and I quickly passed, as to not hold him up too long. The guys were more than polite. I'm sure they don't want to squish any riders, just as we don't want to be squished. Just make sure they see you BEFORE you start riding near them. The trail is narrow, and it's hard for the drivers to see all around them. Also, when they allow you to pass, get out of the way quickly as to not delay their work. Railroads have the rights to the land adjacent to their tracks. We're technically trespassing, and if they wanted to, they could create serious grief for users of the Fullerton Loop. Rob |

![]() There are now big arsed dirt clods, about as big as your head. Although they LOOK like you can wheelie right over 'em, they'll suck up your tire and smash you onto the ground. BAM! Oh well, chicks dig scars... |

The Rail Road is ALLOWING us to continue to use the trail while under construction...the Trail Closed sign refers to the section we NORMALLY drop in on.....that is where they are piling up the gravel....if you ride down past it then back the trail is open...LIKE Rusty Iron said..IF they are working wait til eye contact and permission is given before trying to pass....if someone is stupid and gets squished THEY will close off the trail for good...
