We headed up to Big Bear today and rode Summit, it was opening day. 20 dollars gets you all day lift access.
Weather was perfect, and had a great time. Rode about 22 miles, did some fireroad loops, and then a few nice and semi technical singletrack on the other side of the mountain. The resort itself is off limits due to a lawsuit a few years back, so now when you get off the chairlift its turn left or right. but stay out of zee middle. BTW-What movie is that? The lifty chicks were nice people but could probably kick my a$$ and throw me 25 yards. Hefty, well fed, tattoed ladies. Highly reccommend this day trip, I learned to ski at Goldmine 20 years ago, who would have guessed one day I would be shredding the dirt up there. ![]() |

Was it pretty easy to find your way around where you wanted to go or did you already know the trails? What level trails would you say you hit and was it mostly downhill? I ask because I may be up there with a friend of mine and she is very very much a beginner on a bike.

It is somewhat easy to find your way, they give you a map, but its not very detailed. The good news is that you will always end up at the bottom. The trails range from easy fireroads, to somewhat technical singletrack. Nothing, crazy, my wife did a great job, and she is no expert. |

When I get lazy and have a hankerin for some dh action I'll head up there and pay the 20 bucks. There is some fun singletrack,(Fern Trail,National, a few others) that are worthwhile and they can be real fun if you have a buddy to race. I don't know if they are still there but there were some jumps off to the side and you could do them or take the p-line next to them. Almost everything can be rode in a day on that side. One day I hit the lift 9 times.
