[quote=Dino Brown;68048]Jordan- A little history about the Thursday Night Fully Loop Ride... It existed looooooong before the members of STR decided to make it their "weekly" ride. If the ride were rotated to a different trail, what you would be left with are (2) Thursday Night Rides! Not good. PM me if you ever want to ride the Loop.

Thanks for the history lesson Dino...and here I thought Jose and Steven Jackson started the Loop!

Easy Pilgrim!!! I never claimed to create the Fullerton Loop. That title is held by our Lord and Savior Steven Jackson. If you want to call me the official STR Ride historian- that is up to you. And one more thing...... tell that 40 hot wing eating WOOBIE- he lost the bet. I WANT MY MONEY!!!

Jordan- I am not working Monday. When I made the comment about 5:40 being the earliest I could hit the Loop, I was talking about Monday's in general.

Everyone knows Richard Cunningham discovered the Loop, or was that Al Gore?

It's kind of like mtb'ing in general, not anyone person can take credit for it, although Mr. Cunningham is trying to. (he's really not a bad guy, but that sure is lame taking credit for the Loop)

Everyone parks at the courthouse. Plenty of parking

There's only one Thursday night ride in SoCal? I saw a lot of riders out there, but I didn't think that every rider who lives below the 35th parallel in SoCal and on Thursday night was at the loop.

I know you're only kidding around, but I like the idea of mixing up the location every now and then.

If STR members decide the Thursday ride needs to be rotated, who am I to disagree. My point was quite a few people in our group made the Thursday Night Loop Ride their weekly ride loooong before STR even existed!!! Some "may" choose NOT to ride elsewhere on Thursday.

I simply felt it was my duty as "STR Loop Historian" to make that point known. Cheers!

Those who do the Thursday night rides know that it is primarily a social ride. I can't think of any other local trail that lends itself as well to social rides. Because the trail is mostly wide doubletrack, it's easy to ride together in wide groups. Also, because the trail features a wide variety of terrain, and quite a number of hills, there are naturally many regrouping points.

I've been riding the loop off and on either Wednesday or Thursday night for many years - even when I worked right next to Whiting Ranch. Now that I work in Torrance, it would be next to impossible to get to anywhere in OC before 6:45. However, if the group wants to do rides at Palos Verdes, I could swing that.

For those who want to have rides elsewhere, by all means, set them up! Some people simply can't make it the the loop by the starting time, and they would enjoy riding in a group in a more convenient location. There's no reason why there can't be two weekday rides. Even better if it's another day, so that perhaps even the Thursday regulars could join.

Now that the days are longer, you can actually ride Turnbull Cyn and Chino Hills after work. It was part of the rotation for our little group ride last summer. Also in the middle of 714/909/310/562/949/951/626/213 did I miss any other area codes?

323 Los Angeles

I'm up for a Turnbull Canyon ride. I've only ridden there once.
