Default RR: RR: Bikes and Beers 2007

Good fun today, had a excellent time. Might be the most pavement I have ever rode.

Mr. Freak and Mr. Gurp you missed a good ride today, you guys would have felt right at home...lots of pavement.

Nice new bike Bruce.

My favorite pic I took today was Tani going up the huck.

Good riding with everyone today, props to the path for organizing the ride and providing coffee and cake. So many STR folks showed up, there were Warriors Society, Trail Angels, and many other groups. I finally got a chance to meet some folks I only read of on here. I'm glad I came out! Thanks for the beer, but more importantly, a great time!

Thumbs up Thanks for sharing the pics Dean.

I would have liked to have been there today but the church band comes first and besides, I was too sore today from watching Gene fall yesterday....

It looked like everybody had fun today!

very good times out there today! i couldnt believe the turnout, there was a lady and her kids counting us when we rode by her right after we left The Path and i heard her saying 97, 98, 99.....and there were still a large group behind us. the beer bus was a welcome site, i stopped both times and filled by cup, thanks! riding up the 3 b!tches sucked as usual, but it was good to see i wasnt alone with the h-a-b up the first one and 1/2 way up the second one. up at the play area i hit the drop around 10 times or so it felt like, it was a trip riding through the large crowd of riders/onlookers, maybe that was part of the thrill, but i never did worry about eating sh!t off the drop. ripping down the s/t to chutes was fun as usual and for the amount of riders out, i really wasnt held up at all by slower traffic. heading back towards peters we stopped at the beer bus again, but the keg was dust...so we proceeded on to peters feeling parched. once at the brew co. i was in a minor dilemma, i wanted to hang out and share stories over beers and pizza, but my friend had a ticket for me for the angels/dodgers game, so i ended up going to the game and getting there in the 5th inning. good times out there and thanks for posting that pic of me dean, and that shot of tani going up the drop is bad ass!!! im looking forward to seeing more pix and reading more RR's from all the other bubbs and bubbettes.

Awesome ride today with lots of new faces and familar ones too. A little too much pavement for me, but fun nonetheless. I've posted a website of ride pictures here:

Thanks to The Path for organizing the ride and to Sprockethead for the calories along the way.

Cheers!

Why can't we have more LBS's like The Path? I thought there would be a good turn out.

Thumbs up What a GREAT Time!!

Chaulk up another FUN Bikes and Beers!

It was great seeing everyone out there today!
I missed getting to ride over through Peter's with the group. Mutz and I road over to a little early to speak to the ranger and find out about Waterfall. She really didn't give us a clear answer, which ended up not making any difference anyways, because I think we all headed down Chutes.

What a cool feeling it was riding of the drop, with it being lined with other riders! I think I surprised a few of them when I road up real slow, stalled and wheelie dropped it. I figured it was a no lose move because if I crashed, I'd get lot's of laugh's!

The ride along the ridge was real smooth also! Like Guero said, everyone was really flowing, so it stayed fast and fun.

I'd forgoten my camera at home, so big thanks to all of you that got pictures, and video. If you got video, you need to get it up so our downed rider's can get some of the fun!

See you all on the trail!!

Oh man, I knew seeing pictures of today's ride would make me feel like crap for not going! I had to visit my mom and drive her to Wal-Mart this morning. She "needed" to go, and, well, she is my mom, so I had to skip the ride.

Next year though!!!

Great pics and great work by Tani and the other guys at The Path for setting up a very successful ride.

Fun day with loads of STR folk. Depressing to see how much was burned, but rewarding to see parts growing back and wildlife still out there (prob hungry). Thnx for The Path and all the other STR folk for a great time.

I love that picture of the new green stuff in the middle of the burned area--it's a true test of perseverance.

After riding through Peter's Canyon, where John led us up a little single track climb, Jose said, "John this better be good". And, I got the quote of the day:

Me: So, did John so you a good time?
Jose: Yeah, but my butt hurts

I tried to trade my bike for a horse at the bottom of the 3 B's, but the guys wouldn't go for it, so I ended up climbing (woohoo!).

Overall, it was a blast! Good to see you guys, meet some, and forget some more names (hope to see you guys again, so I can try to engrain them in my brain). Everyone was so much fun to ride with!!!!

There's nothing like a mtn bike ride with a hundred (or two) of your closest friends.
