Alert!
A shift in political power within the State of California has once again propelled a massive Wilderness bill (sponsored by Senator Barbara Boxer) into motion that, if passed into law unmodified, will permanently block millions of acres of public land from mountain bikers. Please read and sign this petition to Senator Boxer that asks for a more flexible "Back Country Recreation" instead of the ultra-restrictive "Wilderness" designation for much of the land incorporated in the bill. http://access- advocates. org/petition_ 01 And please pass this on to any of your own MTB mailing lists |

I wish she would.....,
I wish she would....., I wish she would....., ...damn, Barbara's still breathing. Reminds me of the Mojave land grab a few years back. Tons of open space lost to the casual visitor. Sure you could now hike in 15+ miles in 100-degree heat. Oh yeah, let's also remove all of the wells & water pipe that the wildlife has depended on for decades. Have fun finding water little deer, quail, chuckar, dove, sheep etc. URRRGGGHHHHH. Many groups (mainly responsible outdoors enthusiasts) are trying to beat this down. ![]() ![]()

#18464 - Not that the likes of Boxer won't have her way anyway. The best thing to do would be to vote her out of office, but people are not willing to do that. In order to vote out the land grabbers, you would also have to vote in the pro-gun, or the pro-life, or those who are against spending tax money on after school programs so that both parents can work and not be at home for the kids so you can have all your "necessary" toys, or those that are against raising minimum wage, or those who want to tighten the borders. I have no problem doing that, but what about everybody else?
