I don't ever really recall a rr about this trail so I'll give it a go.
First understand tha Marshall is not a technical trail at all, very gradual climbs and very buff singletrack or for the most part double track. It gets a lot of different trail users. But to me it's a very enjoyable and fun ride to do. This morning I wanted to do a ride, but my bike isn't working properly and the ride Dsteeper and them were doing is not a bike to take that has issues So I went out on a solo ride where no one would be waiting if I had problems. I was going to tell you it was a soul serching ride or a communing with nature or better yet trying to find my center, but most of you know me and know that would be BS, I was just going to have fun. George, don't look!!!

Wish I knew how to enter text with pix. anyhoo, here's whats what;
1. There is a coyote behind that log. He wasn't shy at all till I took the camera out, must be stage fright. 2. That's where I'm heading today Poe-tay-toe Mountain. 3. Equestrian Center, I've been riding this area for 7 years and have never seen a horse in there??? 4. I once followed a bear up this part of singletrack for five minutes and the bear never turned around. 5. The obligatory bike porn. 5. Some of the canopy you go under, there is a lot more then this and a lot thicker. This place really is beautiful.

Yeah, right - and Salma Hayek is hiding under my bed! ![]() Nice RR, regardless. That area looks very pretty and fun. I'll have to check it out one of these days soon, but I think I'll wait till the temps get higher and the smog gets thicker!

Great pics, I haven't been there since the time that I started riding; I love the canopy!
You should work on your story telling though, if it's a critter behind the log, might as well be something like Big Foot (if you really want to impress us) ![]()

I use to ride this area back n the mid 90's... great area with a little of everything back then. I do not know if they have built more houses in claremont and LaVerne but man this brings back some memories.... There was a night ride that went off the top of mills every Wed night, up Burbank and then where ever we ended up...

Love that place. Rode there this afternoon . Not uncommon to spot the resident bobcat, coyote and deer. If Mike doesn't mind I'll add a few more pics but they just don't do the place justice! Here's a few of the stream and crossings.

Since it's down the street from my house, one of my regular loops to ride is CWP up Burbank then down through Marshall (which is the part really that makes the whole ride
worth it) then Thompson Creek Trail back to CWP. Just curious for those who do this have you ever measured the mileage? I'm guessing 10 or so? Anyone know. Just curious. |

11.6 if you go up Cobal and 12.2 if you go up Burbank.
