RR: 4/29 JPL/MWBA Pancake Breakfast/Ride & Raffle

[Hanzo]

Havent done JPL in over 2 years but decided to do it and get pancakes after. Plus the money was going to a good cause(saving the trails of course). The proceeds were going to Mt Wilson Bicycling Association which is something like SHARE but for the San Gabriels.
Im not going to describe it because I'm sure almost everyone here has done it at least once.

Weather man said it was going to be cloudy all day with a high of 66. Yeah right! Started off dark and cloudy, but it sure got sunny by raffle time.

Some old guy named Keith something or other that passed me on the way up.


Mans best friend. This dog did the whole trail and was pretty happy. The guy on the bike wasnt even the owner. Dont know who or where the owner was.

Sorry no pictures of pancakes, but they were good and tons of raffle prizes none to had by me.

Turns out that old guy was Keith Bontrager. Maybe you've heard of him???

Was talking to him at the raffle. He was pretty nice and a down to earth kinda guy.

Yeah, that unicycle guy is crazy! He's a member of PMBC--haven't met him yet, but he's legendary.

I've seen aqua post some unicycle riders on mtbr but never thought I'd see one. I was talking to some guys that were riding El Prieto in reverse and all of a sudden this guy comes rolling down. We tried to get out of the way but had poison oak to the left and right so he stopped on a dime did a bunny hop 180 and launched off the rock. It was great!
That unicycler was pretty fast going up too, but thats cuz he only has 1 wheel which makes his cycle lighter. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Andy, dont know if you want to go there. It was filled with PO and I started to show signs of red dots on my legs yesterday.
