Scott and I were able to get away for the weekend and do some riding down South. We left Kernville on Thursday and spent the night at my uncle's house in Victorville. In the morning we left at about 7:30 heading for the Idyllwild area. There was an accident on the 15 and we got stuck in the traffic jam. We went 7 miles in 4 hours! It sucked so bad, I was going nuts. We didn't get into the mountains until 1:30. It was snowing so we decided to go on the 74 and look for some drier trails. We eventually stopped at Art Smith Trail. We did about 5 miles out and back. Here are some pics.

After riding Palm Canyon on Saturday we were planning to ride SART with several others on Sunday. In the morning the weather report was not good and the drive towards SART was windy. We got word that the others were scared off by predictions of 30 degrees and windy. We were committed so we drove on. The reports were bogus and the conditions were great. Low 50s, no wind, moist dirt, and no dust. I have never ridden here before but I can't imagine the conditions are ever better than they were today. My only regret is that I was too worked to take full advantage. We rode for several hours and did about 11 miles. I really enjoyed this trail and will be back. The area riminded me a lot of the Southern Sierra. We have many trails like this only most of ours are slanted a little more. Here are some pics.

Those were some great photos Jeff! While you were riding SART, Ann and I were laying on the couch.

Those sunset shots on Art Smith are very, very good!

Great Ride Report.

I did a quick spin at Aliso on Sunday with the girl that bought my other bike and my legs were toast. You guys made the most of your weekend.

It was great seeing you and Scott again.
