Short But Fun Aliso Ride 3/18/07

So, a few guy's showed up at The Path for Sunday's ride. Lacey had made plans to meet up with her friends at 1:30pm, so it needed to be a nice, short but sweet ride for us. Serge (Big Guy) had given me a call to see where we were headed.
So, I sugested Aliso.....Lacey sugested we ride UP Rocket
We had tried it a few times before, and believe it or not, she actually likes it.
She was really pushing me on the climb! I know she goes up hill faster than me, but since it was Rocket on a Sunday, I felt more comfortable with her pedaling behind me, so I could be her lead blocker, if someone decided they had the right of way comming down. Fortunatly, every rider we met up with DID yeild to us.

Once at the top, I mentioned going down StairSteps. Out of our group of six, Big Guy and I were the only two to ever ride down it. So with that I said "there's no better time than now"!
I lead the way so I could stop the others to show them the tech spots before ridding them. Some rode the first rocky drop section, some walked. I always recomend to just do what YOU are comphy with. I was on my hardtail, and had forgoten how much fun that section is without full squish. The next area we stopped at was the little sandstone "Y". You can go straight down the stone, or more to the left, where the small off camber chute is. I always take the left line, and as I rode up to ride it, and started down, one of the other guy's stopped. OPP's!! OTB for "Crash"! I then walked back up, and rode it the right way, on both wheels.
Once at the bottom, everybody aggreed that that was a REALLY good time! Lacey even said that the only section she walked, was the first top section. "It's a fun trail!"
"Now, which way do we go to get back up?"
Did I forget to metion that it is an out & back trail?
We all actually had a great time challenging each other on riding sections going back up.
Once back at the top, we headed back down Rocket, over to Dripping Cave, and out.
Like I said, short...but REAL sweet!

Maxwell, my son Dillon and I poached Rocket and Dripping Cave with your group. Good times!

Your son is a strong climber. He motored right up Dripping Cave!
How old is he?
I'm going to try and get my son Jake out with us a little more often. He likes to ride, but sometimes likes his Nitendo more.
You guy's should come down to the shop, and hook up with us for a ride.

Dillon is 15. He's been riding with me for alomost 2 yrs now. He's really come a long way in the last 6 months. It's amazing what a new bike will do, not to mention riding 4mi on a beach cruiser to school everyday and then back.
We were both very impressed with Lacey, she's good!
