Default AZSF Prescott

Day 4 and we were done with the heat. Some of us originally were considering the Goat Camp ride east of Phoenix but came to our senses and realized that riding in the trees and relative cool of Prescott was a much better option. Again Mean Dean stepped up to guide our group. We met up with the mtbr crew half way down the mountain and exchanged pleasantries. We were shuttle monkeys this day but no-one gave us any grief. Besides there was still some climbing involved. Despite weary legs from the previous days, we pedalled hard and railed the buff singletrack goodness at maximum heartrate nearly the entire ride. It felt great!

As Arizona has become my second home, it was great showing you guys around. One day in Sedona is not enough, yes you can hit most of the trails but are so many hidden jems that we just keep finding more trails all the time. In the summer, the problem is carrying enough water to stay out on the trails for more than 3-4 hours.

In Prescott no need to drive anywhere, no matter what part of town you live in you can do some major epic rides from your house. The town trails and forest trails all link together to get in some long days in the saddle.

If you guys enjoyed Prescott go back in August and September when the monsoons have turned everything green. Prescott and Flagstaff are great summer retreats to beat the heat.

Dean

Thanks again Dean for showing us the trails. The 305 trail reminded me lots of Mammoth riding. You have to let me know when your back in Prescott. Only took me 1:30 back to Tempe, so I'll be back soon.
