RR: Santiago Oaks Saturday morning ritual!

Have to post up a little action from yesterday's shop ride, Thanks Ladd Jasper for joining us. I got there a little early, we meet/start around 7:30 and getting there at 6:30 I thought I'd "warm up" so into the Oaks I went. I did the 3 B's and down chutes pretty quick and got back just as gabe was calling me. Ladd Jasper- or LJ from now on- made it along with Diamond Dave so off we went. Gabe was nice enough to loan LJ some shoes since he forgot his ! Nothing like rocking it old skool in the Chuck Taylors.
We hit a new trail- to me- in Irvine park with a great mix of easy climbs with some fun and tech downhills with the standard "doom" roll in for those feeling saucy...which was only Gabe.
After the park it was back to the bottom of Chutes, up that super fun ride/hike and then down Waterfall.
Waterfall is becoming one of my favorite trails, it is hard!
LJ and gabe killed it thru the turn of doom and I actually cleared a few rock drops and sections that I most likely would have died on using the rigid SS.
I brought a new toy to try out.
It was perfect and I am going to keep all the reflectors on, or as they have been called monentum keepers , I'm bringing em back!
The ride is always going on every Sat morning so hopefully we will see some new faces!

Nice RR, Neil--good riding with you again.

Hit some trails that were new to me, and had a great time on 'em. Then again, the whole ride was a bonus, as I'd left my SPD shoes at home and thought I'd have to bail.

Well, as the pics can attest, Gabe saved the day and loaned me some flats and a well worn pair of Chuckies to go with them. Took some getting used to not being clipped in, but I managed. They really helped down Waterfall, actually, as I was kicking off the walls so much it was more pinball machine than bike run. Thanks again, Gabe!

Thanks, Nam. And yeah, I know. If memory serves, you've been digging the Ventana right along with me since Day 1.
If I can bring myself (meaning "if I'm allowed") to pull the trigger on a Terremoto, we'll talk. If it has to go, I'd want the X-5 to go to a good home!
