that's your "light" rig, huh. still think the Brooklyn would have been the way to go

hear a few are switching from nev's to Small block 8's in back as they roll faster. anyone have a report on how thye run in muddy/wet conditions?

I have since swiched to a Pace carbon fork so it is a little better. I won't be able to feel my hands by about 1/2 way down.

They actually work pretty well in the wet and mud....for a small profile tire. Road them through all the mud at Whiting and had zero problems with them.

This bike isn't suspension corrected so that's why I went with the Pace. I also put a new 2.5 tire on the front and a 2.35 in the rear. At least it's something.

full rigid - "hands" would be least of my worries

That bike is cheating and is under the weight limit IMHO.

two options:

a- 29er ss, assuming the bb isnt creaking on today's ride- the ebb is heavily lubed at the moment. it was ridgid for most of its life. i dont think that'd be smart on this ride. so, the reba will go on the seven after this event.

b- 26er TituSS (kinda de-stickered). major benefit: 20 lbs = easy to push.

I have ebb creaking problems on my Niner. I have in under control by wrapping the ebb with Teflon Tape.
