Here are some of the pix I got from today: I am a little pooped after today but still smiling . I love riding my bike and the crew we had today was awesome, wish more could have made it!
Steve, shoot me some of your pix and lets get them up

Just past the Post Office and there was Dean, our start was delayed a little because Jose thought we were leaving at 9am, not 8am

Extra credit top loop, it was fantastic!

Jose wants to make sure you see his new pedals!

Bushwhackin' and log jumping was the theme today!
Here were some examples of bushwhackin' by Justin and Brandon...yes, Brandon is on his cross bike

A little breaktime and Brandon coming up the hill

a killer view

We found Deans truck at the bottom of the 1st section from Southfork, we would meet them shortly as we continued up. That is Gabe and Steven lurking about!

A tire discussion or had Steven's 29er taken her last breath?...just kidding, Steven was killing it today!

A great ride with great views!

Thanks to all that did the big loop today, Justin, Jeff, Steven, Jose, Gabe, Ted, Brandon, The Southern Dandy -who missed the fun stuff but thanks for waiting for us!, and RidetheRAAM4.- I brain farted your name, sorry!-
STR ruled SART with a iron fist today ,I think we were pretty much the only ones there.
Nice job Dean on hooking up the other ride and helping out Ted, we were freaking out he might have had a tumble down one of the many sloping hillsides.

Jeff will have to tell you Jeff's story!

Thanks Jose!
That was pretty rowdy on the cross rig, only damage was a stick to the rear wheel - caught it before my derailleur blew off!- and a slightly askew rear rim....5 minutes in the stand and good as new!
I cannot get over how challenging and fun that trail is and how crazy it was on 700x35 tread, I think that's what keeps me coming back for more, that and the post ride burger, man that was good!!!

Default STR save's the day

Thanks Justin, Jeff, Steven, Jose, Gabe, Brandon, The Southern Dandy & Neil the guys I started with for my first time at SART. I owe you a beer Dean for saving my a.., and giving me a ride back up to the turnout. I wasn't feeling that good but with that said. The ride was truly all mountain riding uphill, downhill, fireroad, singletrack, water, snow (little bit), sunny, windy & 300 degree view didn't make it the top
But I'm in on this ride anytime and I will make the top next time.
Props to the fix & cyclecross bikes that was impressive and fun the watch.
The conditions we're great lots of traction a little cool at the start but the day warmed up. Next time I'll try to take some pics to share.

I'll put my rocky on some 2.1 next time make it a little easier on the up's. Thanks again to everyone can't wait to ride with you guys on more socal trails.

No problem Ted, forget the beer, just post up the next time you do a Mt. Wilson Trail shuttle run. Still a couple of trails on Wilson I have not been on.

Shouldering thru the rock field

Me in the drops, that section was a blast!

Ahhhh, the fireroad up and out....

Jose, Steven and I know there is cold beer in the cars

Steven, thanks again for the pix and kind words in the captions of your photo album, it was truly a "epic" day!

Q? I tend to ride solo (mutant schedule/ do early AM rides/ dad of 4….)…. So what I want to know is..

What is the best way to taste SART w/o a shuttle? Which loop is the bestest? Or- are there a couple options (.e.- the 3 hour version vs. the 6 hour version?). Again, the goal being maximum single-track/ minimum time spent sharing a road a road w/ cars. Thanks, all……….

most of the trail is singletrack except for the climb back out which is a fire road. i believe the loop neil and company did was from post office to middle control, middle control to glass rd. and glass rd. to south fork. Then turn around and ride it back with the final climb out of middle control road to the turnout on hwy 38.

One way I usually do it is to park at the trailhead near the bottom of Glass rd. This way you can do an out and back towards South Fork CG, have lunch, and then do an out and back the other direction if you have enough time. Sometimes I'll take the dirt road from Glass Rd to Southfork to save more time. These sections are a little easier than the upper post office section (less climbing). It takes a little longer to get there though.
