well. i must say today was the best day ive ever had on a mountain bike. yes, better than the best DH runs! i had a total blastee. i left with the later group (nam,scott,lynn,dean/ sorry if i misspelt any of those) i imagined more climbing, and i would have climbed more given the awesome decents. never ridden anything like this before, totally stoaked. no mechanical problems on my end, i did get a stick stuck in the middle chainring in the front, other than that today went off without a hitch. well, except i had to pee every 15 minutes or less. thanks for the ride nam, truely appreciated. nice meeting and riding with you guys, hope to do it again soon.

good ride today guys, i'd like to thank scott for leading the way through the trails and the initial ride up the hill. deano, thanks for letting us noobs ride with the fun group

ryan, you were kicking some ass out there today bro... even had some gas left over to climb out to the turn out. at least we know you'll never be dehydrated with the amount of water you consume

lynn, you were kickin some major butt coming down from south fork.

i had a blast, i miss being out in elevation like that. i'm surprised i wasn't as spooked about the exposure as the first time i went and in a few spots i was carrying way too much speed. only had one wipe out, but it was a minor front tire washout. all in all, not a bad 18 miles we did today. i'll be back for more

i've done that ride before, its not easy and i'm in no shape to try it with those wackos... the southfork descent and the new to me post office loop was sweeet.

dammit, i should have gone back and hit that log drop again... ryan threw it down on that xc bike

Default what he said...

Tkblazer I'm quoting you from the other post..."thats why i love riding, period. sure you can go out and do other stuff, but going on a sweet ride with cool people... its hard to top that"

Ryan and Nam, great to meet you. Another awesome day at SART, not that I've EVER had a bad day there.

Hey Jose, we picked the RIGHT course, we had a blast and we were smiling when it was all over, and you?

Scotty, Dean, Nam and Ryan thanks for another Kick-a** day in nature.

Ryan, I'm so glad you enjoyed the ride so much you are so lucky to have my favorite trial in your back yard.

Still smiling!!!

Haha!!I knew this was coming. This ride was epic!!!Ride was suppose to start at 8.Jose was late again, but that was expected.Ride ended up taking off a little before 9.Total of 10 riders. We pretty had the whole trail to ourselves today.

First section was littered pretty well with downed trees.Neils buddy Dave backed out a couple miles in after realizing this was not his cup of tea.He met up with us at the end of SART trail with the car.Our first major break was at South Fork.It was a little after this where we had our MIA.We were waiting at the end of the SART trail, when brandon comes up and tells us our last rider must have turned around. No signs of him.We learned later that he had hitched a ride back with Dean. One of Neil's buddies also backed out at the end of SART and drove back with Dave due to mechanical issue with his brakes.Brandon decided to turn back and took the road back.I don't blame you bro.I still say you and Neill and you are crazy for riding cross bikes.

First half of SART on the way back was awesome.Fast technical downhill.SOOO much fun!!!It was about 3/4 of the way back when I started to feel it.That 2:1 gearing was sapping my strength.SART can sneak up on you. Some dowhills mixed in with quick bursts of all out mashing.Well we got to the end of SART and on the fireroad. At this point I was running on fumes. We saw Dean on the climb up.He was shuttling his group and waiting for their arrival from the upper portion of the trail. We grinded on.

I believe it was about 1 1/2 mile from the finish when I had nothing left.I sat down for a couple minutes with my eyes closed trying to focus and let my heart rate drop.I got back on and got about another 1/4 mile.I was pooped.I had officially bonked.Feeling light headed, head was spinning, legs were like jello, tremors. It was pretty trippy.I was about to start walkin it, when Brandon shows up with the truck.SWEET!!!!Thanks Brandon.I owe you one. This was an epic ride.Sooo much fun!!!I love survival mode.

Sorry to hear you bonked Jeff but look at it this way - even in your survival mode I'm sure you're still faster than most of us!

Justin - Love the 'Big Mac Burger' top. Looks like you being a fiend for a bit of Carls Junior extends beyond the food!

Pls note that 'top' is a generic European term for any article of clothing worn on your top half - OK Sarah! :-P
