Default RR-Southridge #3

I guess the race started for me last night a Panama Joe's in Long Beach. Looking back I probably should not have had all the beers and I probably should not have been dancing late into the night.

I arrived at the race with a sour attitude. I didn't feel like being there, I was tired (doy) then I did my normal warm up. I got to the start line, but I wasn't feeling the racing attitude I normally feel. On the first super sandy descent, I sorta lost it and got off trail. I had a huge smile on my face, just because that was exactly how the day was going. Two other singlespeeders were already, what seemed, an hour ahead of me. Luckily one of them was in a different age bracket. After the first lap, I did the "I better ask myself if I'm having any fun" question. I wasn't so I decided to start having fun. I did my best, but it just wasn't in the cards today. I finished 2nd in the old man singlespeed category-which I can't complain about. My favorite part of the races is after the race. Getting to see everyone finish. Hearing the stories, drinking the beers, eating the Mexican food, meeting new people. Today was no exception. Sharky came up and introduced HERself to me. I totally thought she was a guy on the boards. Funny how you interpret the words on the boards and draw conclusions. Anyway, it was nice meeting you Sharky! Here are a few photos I stole from Winston...

thanks

Haha...I saw that second of surprise when I introduced myself. That's ok I did grow up a bit of a tomboy. Great meeting you and seeing all the racers coming in while I was there.
Congrats on your race and hitting that course on a SS !!

Some days are just like that. Glad to see that you still made something of it. Congrats on making the podium.
