I stole this from Winston over on Fooriders. It's an instructional video on how to properly drop a small to medium huck. Pretty cool.

Great comedy! And great vid!! If any one wants to practice these techniques I have a park by my house that has drops that are from 6 inches to 4 feet, and they all land on grass. I do want to stress that they are more of a flat landing type.-Robert Eagle Rock ![]() Oh, and I must be old... Ruining It For The 95%

kentonn is right on... with a J hop, you want to pull the front end up and then roll your wrists forward pushing the back end of the bike up and somewhat even with the front.. i've been trying to practice this technique on jumps, but i still suck at it.

Great video! I can't wait to get out on the trail, now! I am positive that after watching this I will enjoy walking my bike off those 4ft hucks and watching you guys doing this maneuver. Awesome!

It's all in the wrists!
I say this because I ride with flat pedals and the act of jumping up in the air and pulling the bike up with you is what I guess I'm refering to as the "hop" part, be it bunny or j, it gets it done.Oh, and don't jump as high as I use too because 1. my bike is much heavier and 2. I've got suspension now. Life right now ain't letting me stay in shape to pull my rig over rocks like days of yore, but it's good to see these skills out there being passed on. ![]() |

Just makes for a nice smooth, soft and controlled landing.

Thanks!
