RR: Turnbull Jan 27th (+vid)

I'm a bit tired so I'll make this semi-brief ( hopefully ):

So today Andy, Ann, Matt, Dell, and I rode Turnbull. Weather was a tad on the chilly side but I thought it was perfect riding weather. After climbing up the fireroad Dell and I decided to climb up the 3 b!tches while the rest went around. The last little section is really steep and somewhat loose; Dell spun out on that section. I cleaned that part but it drained me a bit. Onward to 7th street we went. Armed with new rubber, I felt confident that I would finally conquer my arch nemesis - the steep uphill with the rock in the middle coming out of 7th street. Well, I'll let you see what happened in the video . . .

After 7th street we hit rattlesnake and ran into Lewis. In the video he's the dude on the iron horse yakuza wearing the jeans.

Nobody took me up on my extended loop with worsham canyon idea so we all climbed out onto the street and headed to the 3 B's. Went down and headed over to Friends st, which is always a good time. Topped off the ride with some tasty mexican at a place that Andy suggested (thanks andy!).

We've always caled that section the "China Wall"' I've never cleaned it myself. I wish it would show how steep it really is. The vid has it looking like a so-so climb, where in reality it's a Biatch!

Hey George,

try hitting up the "Chicken Run" (trail going from top water tower to bottom water tower), that's a wildy steep trail. or even try bombing down "manly man" (fireroad/doubletrack going down ridge where Firends singletrack is) for some real scary speed.
