Default DH Practice at Fontana 1-21 (lots o' pics!)

Started off freakin windy as hell... there was sand flying all over the place coming up the 15. The wind calmed down a bit in Fontana, but it was still enough to throw you off the bike. Myself and four of my friends made the trek out from OC to mess around on the various lines throughout the course. In the parking lot, i spotted Lee and friend getting their bikes ready and suiting up.
After the initial climb we checked the various ways down and went back to the top after going through a few different upper sections. On my second run i managed to crash at the end of an S turn, slam my ass on a rock and really tweaked my ankle. Sure enough, i couldn't walk let alone pedal my bike. That was just about the end of my day... bummer!
Since i couldn't pedal i thought i'd make myself useful and take some pics of the action. The shots start at the first turn up top, midway through the upper part, some table top pics and finally through the last rock garden.
It was good to meet Lee as he's a really good rider and was throwing down some sick moves on that table top after getting a little more comfortable with jumping and jumping in the wind! Lee rides a sweet ass Intense Uzzi and was rippin through that gnarly rock garden...We need ya to try that line the kid on the Glory was doing dood! That kid freakin shreds, beginner my ass....
Enough of the yappin, i know ya'll want some pics

If you look in the first picture at the base of those mountains there is a big white area...That's where I live.

Nam,
It was really cool meeting up with you and your buddies.
It was a really fun day, and I really miss doing that kind of stuff. Although I knew about Southridge, I thought that basically that kind of stuff was dead when Summit closed (to DH).

Thanks for the kind words. And thanks for taking the photos. I think those are the only action photos I have of me riding.

Hopefully, I'll be able to hook up with your buddies for some real hardcore stuff on the Fullerton Loop.

I'm sorry you weren't able to ride as much as you wanted to, and I hope that ankle heals quickly.

I was eyeing that line that the kid took, but at 38, I'm finding that I don't heal as quickly as I used to.

Yeah, he races 16-18 beginner? Damn... Impressive. I remember what it was like being feerless at that age. But I also remember that trip to the ER when I was 16 with a broken left wrist (number 2 of 4), a torn off ear, and a fractured C5.

Funny you mention that. In the next week or so, I'm going to bolt on a bigger turbo onto my truck for more power!!! ARR! ARR! ARRRR!

And I am handy around the house (and I also went a little overboard on my recent remodel). I just wanted to replace the carpet and a few other things...new drywall on most of the walls, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, doors, windows, tile, tub, etc. and a year and a half later

And I guess in Tim Tayler fashion, I slightly modified my garage to fit my 22 foot truck in a 20 foot garage.

Nice pics, gonna have to get out there soon, those rocks were making me drool.

Too bad about the ankle, that's why I always carry duct tape in the c'bak.

first prognosis is that i have an ankle sprain, i gotta go back on weds and get my ankle xrayed... doc doesn't think its broken tho so we'll see. i got some meds and picked up a ankle wrap.. i'm not gonna be able to race this weekend, which sucks because i want to battle it out with the guy that got first and your friend Adrien. Would be a fun series to compete against..
