RR a little late because of DSL problems out in Arizona...I am back in So-Cal and back to work...YUCK!
On New Years Day I talked my sister into driving me out to Groom Creek so I could climb Spruce Mountain, then take Trail 297 and 305 back into the town of Prescott. I thought it was going to be about a 14 mile ride but due to all the switchbacks and the way the trail followed the canyons it was more like 20 miles. I also thought I could ride it in under 3 hours but it took me 4 1/2 hours. There is a bunch of old gold mines on the mountain so I am forever stopping to check out old buildings and old mining machines left out there. Would be nice to find a huge nugget...ya! The singletrack off the top of Spruce Mt. is very loose skree that was very rideable becaues the skree was frozen solid...nice. The more I ride in the snow the more I am liking it. Anyway here is a couple of pics, it is hard to find anything worth posting after 5 days in Sedona...nothing compares to Sedona. The last picture is were I stay when in Prescott, my nieces house in Williamson Valley.

I know it does not take much to get me to visit. Yep it is a 6 acre lot and they bought up the surrounding lots. Over the back fence is BLM open range. Some horses and lots of Proghorn Antelope. If I panned to the left a little you could see 11,000 ft Humphrey Peak, 60 miles away in Flagstaff. The moutains in the foreground are the Mingus Mountains, so Sedona is just on the other side. Takes me 45 minutes from my sisters house and 60 minutes from my nieces's house to drive there.
