RR: Chiquito/Viejo Tie 12/31/06

what an awsome ride! you guys really were in the groove today, pulling off some sick lines. I know craigs riding and he was definetly on top of his game today, and El borracho, (this is only my second ride with him) was really smooth in the more technical parts of the ride, made some of the spots I could not link toghether look effortless. thanks craig for setting up this $20.00 shuttle ride

What a great way to end the year! This is one of my favorite rides and it was beautiful today.

It was just Mark - Outlaw, Mike - El Borracho and myself today. We rode a pretty quick pace but still took time to play. No-one had any crashes but my bike took a beating today. I scratched the stanchion on my fork and broke my bash guard .

Trail conditions were really good. Only a couple rutted sections that will need some attention. I'm going to pack a camp shovel in my camelbak for next time.

Next up was Chiquito. At the fallen log we all took turns trying to ride over. Mike made it over twice but just couldn't ride out the landing.

Next up was Mark. Here's his second try. He killed it!

My attempts were in vain. I could make it up onto the log but just couldn't get the momentum to make it all the way over. Here's a pic of me breaking my bashguard:


When we came up to the section with the caterpillar roll Mike was determined to clean the whole section including the caterpillar. There are a couple moves heading into the caterpillar roll that can be tough if you're not on your game. Mike rolled the whole thing clean:

I promised not to tell anyone that both Mark and Mike forgot their keys in my shuttle vehicle and had to pay some lady from the Candy Store $20 to drive me back up to my truck at Blue Jay. Sshhh. It's a secret. They'd be embarrassed if anyone found out.

Once again, great ride today guys, thanks for coming out. Time to start the New Year's partying

That log is like 10ft high on the other side. Honest. Best $10.00 I ever spent. It sure was nice not having to beg.
